Alastair heads up our ESG practice, advising clients how they can make their businesses more sustainable, impactful, and competitive.
Prior to joining Trafalgar, he ran a social impact consultancy which worked with an array of businesses, charities, and philanthropists to help them address some of today's most pressing challenges, from the refugee crisis to the gender pay gap.
He has spent over a decade working at the forefront of politics, public policy, and communications, including serving as a Special Adviser to both the chief whips in The House of Commons and the Lords during David Cameron's premiership. He helped steer more than 100 pieces of primary legislation through both Houses of Parliament, as well as coordinating key votes including sanctioning British military intervention in Syria. He has a strong track record of working with Conservative MPs and Peers, coordinating their involvement in numerous campaigns including the 2015 General Election and 2016 London Mayoral Election.
After leaving Government, he spent five years as a director at a leading London think tank, overseeing their engagement with donors and the media, as well as with the leaders of a number of developing nations. He holds a PhD in War Studies from King's College London where is also a Visiting Research Fellow, and teaches at the UK Ministry of Defence's Joint Services Command Staff College (JSCSC) at Shrivenham. He is co-editor of a new two volume series on diplomacy, published by Bloomsbury in April 2021.
Andrew is a Director at Trafalgar, responsible for providing strategic counsel, issues management, public affairs and media relations for clients across the business.
Prior to joining Trafalgar, Andrew served as Director of Communications at tech start-up Citymapper and before that served as a senior adviser at MSLGROUP UK, a Publicis Groupe strategic communications agency.
Andrew comes from a political background, having served as for five years as both press secretary and director of communications to the Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada. Andrew writes political columns for several publications and appears frequently on television as a political commentator.
Cecily joined Trafalgar after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from Princeton University, where she studied Modern Languages.
Prior to joining Trafalgar, Cecily lived in both New York and Moscow where she worked in marketing.
At Trafalgar, Cecily deals chiefly with our private sector clients, monitoring media and providing advice on digital campaigns, media strategy and story generation. Cecily has experience working with a diverse range of industries, including health, gaming and tech.
Edward joined Trafalgar after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Political Science and International Relations.
Edward is working on a wide range of accounts including the energy, financial services and entertainment industries. Edward's responsibilities include creating content for media campaigns and preparing client-ready research reports.
Giles Kenningham MBE is a former Head of Press at Number 10 Downing Street and spokesman to the Prime Minister. He was the Director of Communications for the Conservative Party's general election win in 2015 leading a team of 40 people. Prior to this he was a special adviser/ press secretary to the Secretary of State for Communities, Local Government and Housing.
He started his career as a journalist in national radio reporting on business and consumer issues for a variety of stations including Classic and Magic FM. He is a former ITV News producer having worked for 3 years on their three main flagship programmes.
Few people entering the sector have his level of experience and insight of dealing with every crisis imaginable. From political scandals to sex scandals, to privacy issues, he has dealt day in day out for 6 years with the issues that have led the TV news bulletins and dominated the newspaper front pages.
Giles regularly appears as a political and media commentator on BBC, Sky &CNN. He also writes for a variety of national publications including the Times and Spectator.
Grace works across accounts in the political, energy and third sector fields. She graduated from the University of St Andrew's with a degree in International Relations.
Grace joined Trafalgar Strategy with previous experience in both the media and political fields. Having worked at Commit News, a US-based news app, as well as working on an MSP campaign in Scotland as the campaign strategy manager.
Joe leads accounts across the health, energy, and legal sectors. He specializes in supporting tech-focused clients with ambitions to become disruptive innovators in traditional industries.
Joe joined Trafalgar Strategy after a stint in education as part of the Partnership Teaching and Community outreach departments at Highgate School. There, he taught from Primary to Sixth Form level as well as leading the campaign to launch the first-ever Highgate Village Arts Festival.
Joe graduated from Durham University in 2017 with a BA in History.
Kash joined Trafalgar after graduating from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics and Politics. Kash works on a range of accounts in the finance, technology, and entertainment industries. His main responsibilities include, preparing client ready research reports, media analysis and content creation for media campaigns.
