Adam D. Miller

Adam D. Miller, O.D., is a Certified Therapeutic Optometrist. He is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and by the Texas Optometry Board as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Miller received a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University before attending University of Houston College of Optometry, where he attained honors while graduating with a Doctorate in Optometry. He has completed internships specializing in laser vision correction, refractive surgery and glaucoma. After optometry school, Dr. Miller served as a Therapeutic Optometrist for the U.S. Navy at Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego. While in San Diego, he worked and trained in the pre-operative and post-operative management of refractive surgery patients. Dr. Miller is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, including the AOA's Contact Lens and Cornea Section.

Adam L. Spengler

A native Corpus Christian, Adam L. Spengler, M.D., graduated from Mary Carroll High School where he played on the Tiger's soccer team. Dr. Spengler then attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. He then attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where he was elected to the Junior Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society, an opportunity awarded only to the top five percent of his class. He was also a member of the Student Surgical Association and American Medical Student Association and was published in the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal. Following completion of his medical degree, Dr. Spengler completed a transitional internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, and an Ophthalmology Residency at University of Texas at Houston, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Spengler then joined the team of ophthalmologists at Berkeley Eye Center and initially practiced at its Houston locations before returning home to assume the role of physician at Berkeley Eye Center Corpus Christi. Dr. Spengler provides Corpus Christi with full service ophthalmology, including comprehensive eye examinations, LASIK, and cataract surgery. Dr. Spengler has participated in many community and volunteer activities, such as providing free vision screenings, health screenings and volunteering with the Habitat for Humanity. In April of 2016, Dr. Spengler was honored with the Certificate of Excellence, as one of Corpus Christi's top three ophthalmologists. He has also been recognized by his peers as a Super Doctors Rising Star, and as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2023. Dr. Spengler is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as the Texas Medical Association and American Medical Association. His professional interests include glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery, including LASIK and PRK. In his spare time, Dr. Spengler enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing, reading, auto-work and jogging, among other pastimes.

Anthony Kruger

Dr. Kruger is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist providing full scope routine and medical eye care as well as cataract and refractive surgery co management. Dr. Kruger is an active member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Texas Optometric Association. He is highly motivated in providing the highest quality care and creating a positive and memorable experience for each and every patient at the Grand Oaks and The Woodlands locations. Born and raised in Cypress, Texas, Dr. Kruger attended Cy-Fair High School, where he played basketball and football. In his free time, you can find him working out at the ranch, hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family and polar labrador Remington.

Bac T. Nguyen

Bac T. Nguyen, M.D. is a fellowship-trained, board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Nguyen attended the University of California, Los Angeles as a prestigious Regents' Scholar, earning his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics. After graduating summa cum laude from UCLA, Dr. Nguyen went on to earn his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Nguyen relocated to Houston and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine. After residency, he went on to complete a Glaucoma Fellowship at the Stanford University School of Medicine Byers Eye Institute. Upon his return to Houston, Dr. Nguyen joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, specializing in glaucoma. He quickly rose to the position of Deputy Chief of Service for Ophthalmology at Ben Taub General Hospital, helping lead the ophthalmology service at the largest county hospital in Harris County. Dr. Nguyen distinguished himself both as a clinician and as an educator, while also conducting multiple clinical trials. He has given numerous lectures educating the eye care community, and his award-winning surgical education videos have been selected by experts in the field to help train ophthalmologists on the latest in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. In recognition for his accomplishments in education and patient care at Baylor, Dr. Nguyen was awarded the Taub Notch Teacher Award and the Early Career Faculty Award for Excellence in Patient Care. Dr. Nguyen is recognized both nationally and internationally for his expertise in glaucoma and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He is one of only 80 glaucoma specialists worldwide invited to be a faculty member of the Interventional Glaucoma Congress. The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery continues to invite him to lecture and train ophthalmologists in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery at their national meetings. Dr. Nguyen has also been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2021, and a Houstonia Magazine Top Doctor since 2022.

Charles W. Hollas

Charles W. Hollas, O.D. is a Certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. A Houston native, Dr. Hollas graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry after completing his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University. Dr. Hollas completed externships in private practices in Humble and Webster with diverse patient populations. He worked with several ophthalmologists in various areas of specialization with an emphasis on general optometry, contact lenses, and pre-and post-operative LASIK and cataract patient care. Dr. Hollas joined Berkeley Eye Center in 2002. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Harris County Optometric Society and the Pearland Area Chamber of Commerce.

Daniel Anderson

Daniel Anderson, M.D., graduated from the United States Air Force Academy as a distinguished graduate, earning a Bachelors in Science. He went on to earn his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine internship at Ocshner Medical Center in New Orleans. He went on to gain operational experience as a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force, earning an Air Medal with over 200 combat hours during multiple deployments. Dr. Anderson then completed an ophthalmology residency in San Antonio at Wilford Hall and Brooks Army Medical Center, becoming a third generation ophthalmologist. Recognized for his surgical skills, he was selected to stay in San Antonio as junior faculty for the residency program, taking an active role instructing resident training and running the cataract surgery program. He deployed as an ophthalmologist to Afghanistan, where he managed complex ocular trauma and played a critical role in the head, neck, and face trauma team. He also has gained humanitarian experience both during deployment and in Panama, performing manual small incision cataract surgery on residents of several underserved villages. Dr. Anderson has always been passionate about complex anterior segment surgery and pursued further training, completing a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Working with world renowned leaders in the field, Dr. Anderson had extensive surgical and clinical training. Prior to settling in The Woodlands, he served as the Chief of Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. He volunteered time to teach cataract surgery for Tulane Ophthalmology residents at the Biloxi VA and taught refractive surgery to Tulane and Buffalo NY residents and fellows. He specializes in DSAEK and DMEK endothelial corneal transplants, diseases of the anterior segment, complex anterior segment surgery, cataract surgery, and refractive vision correction surgery with LASIK, PRK, and ICLs. As an Idaho native, he enjoys the outdoors. He is happily married to a Louisiana native and is the proud father of three girls.

David A. Garza

David A. Garza, O.D., is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed his Doctor of Optometry Degree after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Optometry. He was honored with Five Letters of Excellence in clinic at the U of H College of Optometry and served as Vice President of the Pre-Optometry Professional Society. Dr. Garza completed multiple externships; one at a Houston practice, where his experience emphasized refractive surgery, and at St. Joseph's hospital, where he focused on treatment and diagnosis of retinal pathology. Dr. Garza sees patients primarily at our Weslayan location where he practices the full scope of optometry. He is an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and specializes in cataract and refractive surgery management. He also has extensive experience in the fitting of specialty contact lenses, including hybrid lenses, custom scleral lenses for patients with irregular corneas or post corneal surgery, as well as contact lenses for the treatment of ocular diseases. He has also been a clinical investigator for multiple FDA clinical trials for multifocal lens implants, intrastromal corneal inlays, LASIK, and ophthalmic medications. In addition to seeing patients in clinic, Dr. Garza dedicates his time to training optometry externs as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry. For several years, Dr. Garza volunteered his knowledge and experience to help Prevent Blindness of America and The Lighthouse for the Blind. This included performing glaucoma vision screenings and helping visually impaired children learn and perform tasks they were unable to do on their own.

David B. Beeler

David B. Beeler, O.D., is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who cares for patients at Berkeley Eye Center-Dayton. He specializes in pre-and post-operative LASIK, cataract surgical care and specialty contact lenses. A Kansas native, Dr. Beeler attended the University of Kansas for his undergraduate and pre-med studies and received a B.S. degree and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston. He then completed his Master's at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force at USAF Clinics in San Antonio, Texas and Okinawa, Japan as well as at USAF Regional Hospitals in the Philippines and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Beeler joined Berkeley Eye Center in 1983. An active member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association, Dr. Beeler has served the Harris County Optometric Association as president and board director and the University of Houston College of Optometry as adjunct clinical faculty.

Donna M. Talluto

After graduating from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Dr. Talluto went on to earn her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, Dr. Talluto completed an internship at Lehigh Valley Hospital, followed by her Ophthalmology Residency at Geisinger Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Following her chief residency, Dr. Talluto completed her Glaucoma Fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Talluto has dedicated her career to providing her patients with the highest level of care, striving to educate them, and involve them in their treatment. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Talluto has been recognized by her patients with a Vitals Patient's Choice Award and a U.S. News & World Report Patients' Top Choice Award. Her specialty has allowed her to care for patients in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Ohio, before making her way to Texas to join Berkeley Eye Center. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband, kids and their two dogs.

Dr. Chase R. Hilton

Dr. Chase R. Hilton is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Certified Glaucoma Specialist. His clinical experience includes the treatment of ocular disease, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and other retinal pathologies. Dr. Hilton completed his B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin before graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry. In addition, he is trained in the co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery. Dr. Hilton also welcomes Spanish-speaking patients, as he is proficient in administering his eye exams in Spanish.

Dr. Dorothy Chou

Dr. Chou received her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Rice University in Houston, before going on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. During her time at U.C. Berkeley, Dr. Chou was involved in many student organizations including Beta Sigma Kappa (an Optometric Honor Society), where she served as President, and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). Upon graduation, Dr. Chou completed a post-doctorate Family Practice residency at the University of Houston College of Optometry, gaining experience in a variety of specialties including primary eye care, pre- and post-op surgical care, cornea and contact lenses, ocular disease, dry eye, pediatrics, and low vision. During residency, she was named the 2018 recipient of the Douglas W. Hopkins Primary Care Residency Award. Dr. Chou is now actively involved as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association. She enjoys giving back to her community by participating in service events like See to Succeed and Prevent Blindness Texas vision screenings. In her free time, Dr. Chou likes baking, watching movies, traveling, Pilates, and exploring all the great cuisines that the Houston area has to offer.

Jeffrey Jeong

Dr. Jeong attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After receiving his bachelor's degree, Dr. Jeong earned his Master of Science degree in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University with research interest in HAART AIDS/HIV therapeutics. Upon completion of his master's degree, Dr. Jeong spent a brief time working as a junior research coordinator at the University Hospital's Eye Institute where he gained an interest in the eyes. While there he also worked on the National Institute of Health funded Cornea Preservation Time Study. Dr. Jeong then pursued a Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois.
