Dr Alex Nieper

I am a senior Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine and have worked with professional athletes since 2001. I was Club Doctor in the Football Premier League for 10 years, seven of these with Chelsea FC, thereafter I was Team Doctor for the English and Swiss National Football Teams. I have worked in the RFU Championship and Premiership, 5 years with UK Athletics, GB Basketball and GB Hockey and the English Institute of Sport Intensive Rehabilitation Unit. I attended European and World Championships and the Olympic Games. I am a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK) and continue to teach nationally and internationally within the Sports Medicine community. I was an Appraiser and Examiner for the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK) and have taught at The Centre for Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Studies in Bournemouth.

Dr Colin Hamilton-Davies

Dr Hamilton-Davies is a consultant in anaesthesia and critical care and has been working alongside Simon Moyes for more than fifteen years. His special interests are in Cardiac, Orthopaedics, gynaecology, and regional anaesthesia. He trained at The Middlesex Hospital from 1980-85, he was in the Military from 1986-93 returning to The Middlesex 1993-94. His career took him around many of the top London hospitals namely, The Royal Brompton 1994-95, Charing Cross 1995-96, Harefield Hospital 1996-97and The Royal Brompton 1997-98. He became a Consultant at UCLH 1998-2001, at The Heart Hospital 2001-2014 where he was Lead for Cardiac ITU. He is currently Consultant & Lead of Cardiac ITU at Barts Heart Centre. He has undertaken many research projects and had articles published and has presented many lectures including MD published 1998 Relationship of perioperative immune status and outcome following cardiac surgery. Colin is a very fit and active enjoying outdoor sports especially cycling, running and skiing. He often undertakes charity adventures throughout the UK and Europe. Colin also enjoyed his time in the Military and Airbourne Forces and passed his parachute selection in 1998.

Dr George Bownes

George has a wide range of Sport and Musculoskeletal Medicine experience having worked within a range of Military, NHS and Elite High Performance Sporting environments. George has worked for several years at a range of military rehabilitation centres including Defence Military Rehabilitation Centre Headley Court & Stanford Hall as the Upper Limb Lead Consultant and Regional Rehabilitations Units at Aldershot & RAF Cranwell dealing with a range of complex musculoskeletal injuries by leading a wide ranging multi disciplinary team. He has also worked within the England Insitiute of Sport with a wide range of Olympic Sports & worked as Chief Medical Officer to British Skeleton in the build up to the 2018 Winter Olympics were Lizzy Yarnold became the first ever British Winter Olympian to defend their Olympic title and the team won two further Bronze medals as the sport had its most sucessful Games to date. Within his portfolio George works as the Lead Doctor at Harlequins FC (2021 Premiership Champions) and a Tournament Physician at All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon for The Championships. Outside of medicine George is a sports enthusiast. He has podiumed at numerous Ultras and completed multiple International Marathons, Multi Stage Races, Ironmans and Road Cycling events including a charity version of the full length Tour de France. Dr Ramprabu Krishnan

Dr Ram Krishnan has been working with Simon Moyes for two years. He specialises in orthopaedic anaesthesia, paediatric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia (ultrasound guided nerve blocks) and long-term venous access, including PICC and Hickman line insertion. Having graduated from Madras Medical College in India, he completed six years of anaesthetic training at the prestigious PGMIR hospital in Chandigarh.

Dr Stephen Chew

Stephen graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine (formerly St Mary's Hospital Medical School) in 2002. He undertook further training in rheumatology and medical specialties at teaching hospitals gaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians. In 2008 he was one of the inaugural registrars to undertake higher specialist training in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM), working at the Olympic Medical Institute for 18 months, as well as centre's of excellence in central London including UCLH and Imperial College NHS Trust. Throughout this four-year period he gained invaluable experience in the management of musculoskeletal and physical activity related ("sport") injuries in both elite and recreational patients. His current sport role is as match day Sport Physician for the Premiership rugby union side Wasps. He stepped down as Chief Medical Officer for the School Games in December 2017. He has extensive international travel experience with teams having been a Headquarters Medical Officer for Commonwealth Games England for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and Medical officer for the Team GBR delegation both at the World University Games in Shenzen, China in 2011 and Kazan, Russia in 2013. Previously he has worked with the RFU Women's division as Lead Doctor helping set up their National Divisional program, worked at various clinics for the English Institute of Sport (EIS), and was the SEM physician for LOCOG at the Olympic Stadium during London 2012. Stephen holds an honorary Consultant appointment at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Emmanouil Astrinakis

Margaret Gallagher

I have worked for Simon for 8 years. I grew up in County Clare in Ireland. When I finished secondary school I went to work in the General Solicitors Office, Department of Justice Dublin. I worked there for 10 years. I then took a career break and came to London for one year but then decided to stay. When I came to London I worked as a Legal PA in the City for 15 years. When I had my two lovely children I took time out to look after them until I came to work for Simon in 2009. When I started working for Simon I did not have any medical terminology. I now absolutely love my job and find it very rewarding looking after all of the patients. I love the environment of working in the Wellington Hospital. I do all the clinic work from booking MRI scans, CT guided injections etc to scheduling appointments. I also turn the clinic letters around on a daily basis if at all possible. I enjoy working for Simon and endeavour to make his life as easy as possible. I enjoy cycling, walking and dining out with friends.

Mr Aditya Prinja

Mr Aditya Prinja is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Upper Limb Surgery. He studied medicine at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. He then did his clinical training at University College London. After completing his higher surgical training on the Middlesex and University College London Hospitals Orthopaedic Rotation in 2019 he was awarded the subspecialty fellowship training at the world renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit where he spent one year. He was also awarded the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma & Arthroscopy Travelling Fellowship and trained with international experts in San Antonio (Texas, USA), the Steadman Clinic in Vail (Colorado, USA) and Calgary (Canada). Mr Prinja holds an NHS Consultant post jointly across the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust and University College London Hospitals NHS Trust. He treats all aspects of Upper Limb Surgery (shoulder, elbow, hand & wrist) in adults and children. He is involved in the supervision and training of junior surgeons and publishes research regularly in peer-reviewed journals. He holds an Honorary Clinical Lecturer title from University College London for his contribution to education. He has also presented extensively at national and international scientific meetings. Away from work, Mr Prinja enjoys sport, travel and spending time with his young family.

Mr Alessandro Vidoni

Mr Chinmay M Gupte

Mr Chinmay Gupte is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Reader (Associate Professor) in knee and trauma surgery at Imperial College, London, which encompasses St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals. His main interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of sports knee injuries and knee arthritis. He performs both arthroscopic (keyhole) and open procedures, in particular cruciate ligament surgery, meniscal repair, patellar stabilisation, children's knee surgery and knee replacement. Mr Gupte is a specialist knee surgeon with over 14 years experience as consultant, but also has an active research and teaching interest in knee conditions and training of knee surgeons. As a clinician scientist and surgeon, Chinmay combines evidence based medicine for novel strategies in managing knee conditions with traditional well established and effective techniques. He recognises the need assess every knee on an individual basis and explore both conservative and surgical options that combine to improve outcomes in patients. As director of training for trauma and orthopaedics for London deanery NW Thames (2011-2018) Mr Gupte helped reshape training for the consultants of the future in this region. He is also ex President of the Royal Society of Medicine Orthopaedics Section having served as President in 2012, and is an executive member and Trustee of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee. He has also served on the British Orthopaedic Association Committee for Research and on the Main Committee/Board of the Marylebone Cricket Club. He was awarded a PhD from Imperial College in 2004 for his work on the meniscofemoral knee ligaments and their role in knee arthritis and ligament injury. He won the prestigious British Orthopaedic Association Robert Jones Gold Medal Proxime Accessit in 2005. He has published over 95 papers in this and other topics which include shoulder and ankle surgery, tuberculosis and training the surgeons of the future. He continues his research as a Clinical Reader in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College, with particular emphasis in meniscal surgery and knee ligament reconstruction, and also in arthroscopic simulator training, with the aspiration of improving outcomes in patients with knee problems. He helps train surgeons of the future at Imperial, He is a cofounder for the patient access website www.orthoconsent.com, which provides information on common procedures. His time as captain of Oxford University and professional cricketer in 1995/6 has given Chinmay added insight into the unique needs of sportsmen in returning to sport after injury; experience that he brings to bear in his clinical practice. He is also CEO and director of Sportshealing ltd and a governor of John Lyon School, Harrow.

Mr Francesc Malagelada

Mr Malagelada is a fellowship trained Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon at The Royal London Hospital, the UK's largest trauma centre. He specialises exclusively in treating disorders of the foot and ankle. He treats all aspects of the foot and ankle, involving degenerative conditions, sports injuries and complex trauma. By adopting an individualized approach to patient care, personal needs and preferences are addressed and included in the treatment plan. A vast majority of patients can benefit from tailored non-operative treatments and surgery is only advised when absolutely necessary. When indicated he performs minimally invasive surgery (MIS) or arthroscopy (keyhole) using the latest techniques. After qualifying in medicine from the University of Barcelona in 2005, he undertook his Trauma and Orthopaedics training in Spain and the UK at the most prestigious institutions including The Royal London or The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He undertook advanced Foot & Ankle fellowship training in Windsor. He is actively involved in research and holds a PhD degree for studies based on minimally invasive surgery of the foot. He has been awarded the esteemed ESSKA-AFAS fellowship to conduct research by the Ankle & Foot section of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy. Since 2017 he has been practicing as a consultant in the largest Trauma Center in the UK, The Royal London Hospital where he joined a world-renowned team of orthopaedic surgeons. He holds a honorary senior clinical lecturer post at Queen Mary University of London where he teaches and trains students and doctors. He is responsible for training junior surgeons at the Royal London and as part of the BOFAS accredited foot & ankle fellowship he runs. Francesc enjoys water sports especially swimming and triathlon. Once upon a time he swam at a competitive level while currently he does so in a Masters club. Gastronomy and travelling with family and friends are amongst his preferred activities.

Mr Jonathan Ward

Jonathan Ward is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon that has particular interests in complex reconstruction around the pelvis, hip and knee and lower limb fragility fractures. After completion of his specialist orthopaedic training in 2017, Jonathan trained as a fellow at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham working with pioneering experts focusing on hip and knee joint reconstruction prior to completing a year as the Pelvic & Acetabular Trauma and Complex Arthroplasty Fellow at the Royal London Hospital. This sub-speciality training has enhanced his ability to deal with the crossover between joint reconstruction for arthritis and trauma, and the challenges relating to fractures around previous implants. Mr Ward's professional practice is based on hip and knee arthroplasty and the identification and management of problems affecting the hip or knee. He specialises in complex or challenging hip and knee replacement surgery, with the majority of this work for revision hip surgery where hip replacements have developed problems. Mr Ward was appointed as a Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust in 2019, where he is currently the arthroplasty (joint replacement) lead clinician. Mr Ward graduated from Imperial College London in 2006 and trained on the prestigious Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme based at the specialist Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. He has a keen interest in education and training and is involved in the supervision and training of junior surgeons. He is a regular faculty member with Orthopaedic Research UK and the QMUL Trauma Sciences programme. He has more than 10 years' experience conducting clinical research and his research endeavours have centred primarily around hip reconstruction and the management of fractures around the hip socket and pelvis. Jonathan was born and raised in London where he continues to live with his young family. He is a keen rugby and motorsports fan, and can often be seen in Richmond Park being taken for a walk by his two large dogs!

Mr Omar Haddo

Mr Haddo is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in shoulder and upper limb (including elbow, hand and wrist) surgery. He treats all aspects of the upper limb involving elective and degenerative conditions, sport injuries and trauma, including fractures. He studied medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London. He also undertook a BSc in Clinical Sciences at St Mary's Hospital, London (1995). He was appointed to the Stanmore Orthopaedic Training Programme in 2002. He undertook a fellowship at the internationally renowned Reading Shoulder Unit, where he developed his skills in arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery and also in shoulder arthroplasty. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Elbow and Shoulder Society and the British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma Arthroscopy Association. He has published several scientific papers and book chapters. He has also presented at many national and international meetings. He has been a faculty member on various orthopaedic and shoulder courses and continue to be involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching. Mr Paolo Consigliere

Mr Paolo Consigliere is a fellowship trained Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special focus on disorders of the shoulder and elbow. He is well-versed in advanced keyhole techniques and open joint replacement surgery, as well as trauma. Mr Consigliere is deeply committed to providing comprehensive care to patients suffering from various shoulder and elbow conditions, including sport injuries, rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, calcific tendinitis, shoulder and elbow instability and dislocation, degenerative and inflammatory arthritis, tennis and golfer's elbow, as well as upper limb fractures. Mr Consigliere completed his medical degree at the University of Pavia, Italy in 2009 and trained in trauma and orthopaedics in Milan, Italy. He moved to the UK in 2013 and soon after relocating, he completed two upper limb fellowships: one at the prestigious Rowley Brisow Unit, Ashford ann St Peter's Hospitals NHS FT, Chetsey UK and one at the Reading Shoulder Unit, Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS FT, Reading UK, international centre of excellence. Mr Consigliere holds a position as a Lecturer at the Kent and Medway Medical School and serves as the Director of Clinical Research at the Reading Shoulder Unit, as well as he is the Research Lead for the William Harvey Hospital, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. With a remarkable track record of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, Mr Consigliere has made significant contributions to the fields of upper limb and trauma surgery. Mr Saket Tibrewal

Saket Tibrewal is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises exclusively in Knee and Sports surgery. He is triple fellowship-trained at international centres of excellence (Sydney, Melbourne & Oxford) and has a busy practice covering all aspects of knee surgery, which includes partial and total knee replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, knee ligament reconstruction, cartilage regeneration and biological (non-surgical) treatment options for knee pain. Mr Tibrewal has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2016, and is currently appointed at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, where he is the lead for the Acute Knee Service and the Virtual Fracture Clinic. Mr Tibrewal was educated in Oxford and London. He studied Medicine at the Royal Free & University College Medical School (UCL), London, graduating in 2001.
