The company started as a communication agency operating under the name Krug und Petersen GmbH in 1996. With the expansion of the company into such areas of expertise as Lobbying and Product Compliance, the business underwent restructuring in 2006, which merged in 2013 to 1cc GmbH, based in Holzgerlingen near Stuttgart. The only shareholder in the meantime is 4Square Return GmbH.
