Kyle Armstrong

Kyle Armstrong joined the AST management team in February, 2012, as Vice President of Operations after retiring from the Department of State with more than 24 years of experience as an SEO. Mr. Armstrong is a 1986 graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. After managing large global technical security programs both in Washington and overseas, he served as the U.S. government's Site Security Manager (SSM) for the NATO Headquarters construction project in Brussels, Belgium.

Stephen Polnick

Stephen Polnick founded AST in 2001 and has more than 35 years of experience with security engineering management, security program management, and security design. He graduated in 1985 from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors degree in Physics and attended the University of Maryland, where he pursued a Masters in Technology Management. Following graduation, Mr. Polnick served in the Foreign Service for 13 years as a Security Engineering Officer and was the Chief of the Overseas Security Engineering Operations Division, likewise serving as Accreditation Officer for all security-related construction and renovation projects. He served in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and then as Officer in Charge of the Engineering Service Office in Frankfurt, Germany, serving on numerous interagency boards and working groups responsible for developing technical security standards and policies, including explosive detection, forced entry, anti-ram, and blast mitigation technologies.
