BEN SEIBERT

The Seibert foundation works to prevent suicide among teens and young adults by collaborating and addressing the issue on multiple levels; as we believe that suicide can be prevented by bridging the gap between the individuals at risk and the resources available to help aid them back to health. The Seibert foundation was formed in reaction to a personal experience in which one of our dear friends committed suicide. Wanting to turn our grief into positive action, we decided to form a foundation that utilized our direct knowledge of the successes and shortcomings of the recovery process, and to do what is in our power to help others attain mental health. Not only did we form this foundation upon our common desire to turn our grief into a positive outcome, we believe it is our responsibility as individuals to assist those who are in despair. As college students, we have the unique ability to empathize with our demographic, and therefore have the ability to understand the issues we face..
