Amy Kerby

Job Titles:
  • Dental Hygienist
Amy has been twenty years in the field and is a graduate of Gainesville College and Lanier Technical. She has an Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene and is licensed by the State of Georgia as a Registered Dental Hygienist. "I love my patients and helping them learn more about oral health." When she's not in the office, Amy is off camping, gardening, metal detecting, boating and spending time with her family.

Ashlyn Cavanaugh

Job Titles:
  • Dental Assistant
Ashlyn is a graduate of the University of North Georgia and Gwinnett Dental Career Academy, and is certified in Expanded Duties. "I make people aware about their dental health and give them a reason to smile again." He outside office time includes anything outdoors and shopping.

Daphne W. Stiles

Job Titles:
  • Schedule Coordinator
Daphne has been in the dental field for 15 years having earned her credentials through programs like Dental Boot Kamp, Crown Council, Linda Miles and Dale Carnegie. She thrives on patient interaction and developing the right oral health programs for her patients and their family. Daphne is the person that will handle your scheduling and questions you may have with regard to office policy and procedures. She enjoys life outside the office with her husband and son and is has interests in crafts, painting and furniture rehab (as she calls it "shabby chic.")

Dr. Matt Dunford

Dr. Matt Dunford went to South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, GA. He earned an undergraduate degree in Medical Biology from the University of Utah and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He moved back home to Georgia in 2001 and started practicing in Dawsonville. In 2014 he changed practices to work at the former office of Dr. Abbey Lee and Dr. David Wells in Gainesville, Georgia. Dr. Dunford regularly attends the most up-to-date, continuing-education classes available. He has completed courses at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), and training from Dr. David Clark, Dr. Ross Nash, and Dr. Newton Fahl among others , and has lectured about the CEREC CAD/CAM same-day crown system he began using in 2004. When discussing his thoughts about dentistry, Dr Dunford says, "I love working in a profession where there are so many advancements in technology, but there is no substitute for that ‘gentle touch' and having empathy for our patients. Here at Georgia Smile Team, we want to treat you with the same care we would want for ourselves-that means taking the time to make sure you are comfortable during treatment, and being available to answer any questions and concerns you might have." Dr. Dunford likes to give back, working for a number of years with the Boy Scouts of America. Among other activities, he took a group of Scouts on a 40-mile sea kayaking trip off the Georgia coast, and also spent an entire week living onboard a 45' sailboat exploring the Florida Keys at Sea Base with his Scouts. He enjoys camping, hiking, hunting and fishing. His favorite past time, however, is spending time with his wife, Tana, and their five children (ages 7 to 20).

Emelin Lopez Garza

Emelin is a graduate of University of North Georgia, new to the field with over a year in. "I like learning new things every day and enjoy meeting new people." Out of the office for Eme means sharing her time with family.

Hannah Kimbrell

  • Dental Assistant
Hannah graduated from Dental Staff School, Marietta and has been in the field for 4 years. Her credentials include Expanded Duties and CPR certification. "I enjoy making people's smiles better and brighter." She enjoys the outdoors, time with you boyfriend and her two dogs.

Melody McMillan

Job Titles:
  • Registered Dental Hygienist
Melody is a graduate of Macon College and in the field of dentistry for thirty years. She has an Associates in Science in Dental Hygiene, is National and State Board Licensed, and is a certified Expanded Function Hygienist. "I like making patients feel comfortable and relaxed while teaching them about oral health and how to properly take care of their tenth. I love helping others feel good about themselves and love knowing that I'm making a difference in their overall health." Melody spends time with her two grown children and her grandkids, plus finds time for needlework, scrapbooking and reading.

Sandy Collins

A dental Assistant graduate of Lanier Technical College, Sandy, brings a wealth of experience and love to her chosen professional. In the field since 1993, she has become certified in Expanded Duties, Zoom certified, CareCredit certified and has completed certification in X-Ray and CPR care. She also takes over 20 hours a year in Continuing Education courses. "I love helping people understand dental health and the options for treatments they have that will both improve and continue good oral health and save money." Outside the office Sandy has a great time watching her son play football and she enjoys hunting, fishing and hiking, plus she says, "playing with our fur babies."
