In 1985, Malcolm moved to WA from New South Wales to start a Teen Challenge Centre for men in GinGin after many years working with youth at Teen Challenge in King's Cross, Sydney. Intending to stay only a few weeks, Malcolm and his wife Marjorie continue to head up Teen Challenge WA, 26 years later.
The program now runs from Grace Academy, Esperance and can accommodate up to 40 young people aged over 16, both male and female, and is WA's largest youth detox, residential training and rehabilitation centre. Malcolm has served on the Board of Global Teen Challenge and until recently was the Regional Director of Teen Challenge Asia Pacific.
Malcolm has over 40 years' experience working with drug-affected youth and has seen many thousands of lives changed through the Teen Challenge program. Malcolm has been awarded the Prime Minister's Centenary Medal, and together with Marjorie was an Olympic Torch Bearer through the streets of Perth in 2000. These are just two of the many ways Malcolm has been recognized for his service to the youth of WA.
After 6 years at Southside care, Monique helps run a day centre for seniors and people with disabilities (challenging behaviours), as well as In Home services: Domestic assistance, Social Support, transport and help for carers.
Monique loves helping and coordinating programs, and coming alongside the leaders at Southside Care. Monique also loves to help those who are seeking to restore their broken lives no matter what the reasons may have been for their misfortunes.
Paula has been recognized many times for her dedication to her industry, small business and mentoring young woman to achieve success.
