Caryl A. E. Lashley

CARYL A. E. LASHLEY is a Barrister and of more than 35 years' standing with experience in Litigation, Family, Corporate and Trust matters. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, she is proficient both as an Arbitrator and a Mediator. Her professional memberships include: FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers); The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) 1996 - Present; International Bar Association; Bahamas Bar Association, where she served as Secretary from1992 - 1995, and as Chairperson of Ethics Committee, 2000 - Present. She has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 2012, and in 2014 she obtained an advanced certificate in Trust and Estate Mediation from STEP. She is also a member of B.R.E.A (Bahamas Real Estate Association). Caryl's civic memberships include The Nassau Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, where she was the Charter President, The Public Hospitals Authority Medical Ethics Committee, Board Member of The Elizabeth Estates Children's Home, and many national committees on HIV/AIDS, including the AIDS Foundation of the Bahamas, where she served as President for 5 years.

Ivylyn Cassar

Ms. Cassar is a Fellow Member of Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, a Member of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, a past Director of the Bahamas Financial Services Board, a past Director of the Association of International Banks and Trust Companies in the Bahamas, a past Director of the Bahamas Association of Securities Dealers, and Series 7 qualified Investment Advisor. She has recently qualified for Associate Membership of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in England. She was appointed Director of the Bahamas Trade Commission by the government of the Bahamas. Ms. Cassar started her career at Touche Ross (1985), and later joined the New World Trust Group (1988) to launch a 27 year career in international wealth management and private banking, as a fiduciary specialist in trusts, companies, investment funds. foundations ,insurance products amongst others. She was the former managing director of Leopold Joseph Bahamas Limited (1996)which she headed up from inception in the Bahamas until its acquisition by Butterfield Bank. She is presently a principal and Group Vice Chairman of Equity Group International Limited, and Vice Chairman of Equity Bank and Trust Bahamas Limited (2004 to present), formerly Experta Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited. Equity Bank is regulated by the Central Bank of the Bahamas for its bank and trust services, and the Securities Commission of the Bahamas for its investment fund and broker-dealer services. Ms. Cassar attended the College of the Bahamas and Liberty University to study Accounting and graduated with Summa Cum Laude honours with a 4.0 GPA (1985).

Joseph A. Walker

Dr. Walker's educational experience and professional background range from education, administration, political science, geomorphology through to law. He specializes in Civil Litigation, Family Law, Property Law and Contract Law. His academic qualifications include;

Joy P. Delaney B.

Joy Delaney is a graduate of the University of The West Indies and the Eugene Dupuch Law School. She was called to the Bahamas Bar in 2008 and subsequently practised as a commercial attorney. Mrs. Delaney lectures in the LL.B. Program at the College of the Bahamas in the areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Family Law and Contract Law. She has also served as Course Director for Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Eugene Dupuch Law School. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator as well as a Certified Commercial Mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). Mrs. Delaney holds a Masters of Education degree from McGill University and Diplomas in Anti-Money Laundering & Compliance from the International Compliance Association (UK). She is a member of the Bahamas Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) as well as the Association for Conflict Resolution (USA). Her areas of mediation practice include Commercial, Family, Civil, Workplace as well as Peer Mediation.

Melissa Selver

Melissa Selver is an Attorney-at-Law practicing for the past 13 years, having been called to the Bahamas Bar in April, 2002. She is the founder of South-West Legal Services, and her areas of expertise are Family Law, Civil Litigation, Property & Real Estate Development, Private & Wealth Management, Company Formation & Company Management. She has worked extensively in matters involving our local lending institutions in New Providence and throughout the Family Islands. Ms. Selver has given legal lectures at various seminars primarily on Family Law and Private & Wealth Management. She is a member of the Bahamas Bar Association's Financial Service Group, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and currently enrolled with the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS). Ms. Selver obtained her Associate of Arts Degree in June 1995, LLB in December 1999 and completed the Bar Vocational Course in 2001. Her experience working with small, medium and large Firms has inspired her to establish her own Firm where she can offer a more hands-on approach with assisting her clients in resolving their legal matters.

Nicolette C. Gardiner

Nicolette C. Gardiner is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years' experience in the financial services industry having worked with SG Hambros and The Deltec Banking Corporation in the Bahamas as well as Hemisphere Management Ltd. and Aon Insurance in Bermuda. A Scholar of Acadia University, Canada, she obtained her Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant under the Georgia State Board of Accountancy while training at the prestigious firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Ms. Gardiner, Mediator and Arbitrator, is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb), a member of the Executive Committee of the Bahamas Branch, a License member of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA), where she served as a council member for several years, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is currently the Finance Manager of a Major International Venture Capital Fund Manager in the Bahamas. Ms. Gardiner is a member of various working committees of BICA, as well as an active member of the Bahamas Financial Services Board Funds Working Group and Taxation Group.

Reno A. W. Miller

Reno A. W. Miller is a finance professional with more than 15 years of leadership experience in the Banking and Hospitality sectors. Mr. Miller has worked in a number of roles, which has allowed him to gain experience in client relationship management, internal audit, fund accounting, client accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, capital budgeting, project management, arbitration and mediation. Mr. Miller is currently a member of the executive committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Bahamas Branch, Vice President of the Association of Fraud Examiners, Bahamas Chapter, and member of the Chartered Banker Institute and Institute of Internal Auditors. Mr. Miller is currently pursuing the Bangor Business school's Chartered Banker MBA, a ground-breaking qualification that will allow him to gain the dual award of a top MBA in Banking and Finance and the coveted ‘Chartered Banker' status. Miller completed his undergraduate studies at Acadia University and also completed the Certificate Program on International Alternative Dispute Resolution through the Institute of International Commercial Law, Pace Law School. In addition to being an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Miller also holds a advanced certificate in Mediation, Trusts and Estates from the Society of Trust and Estate practitioners (STEP).
