Brent H. Coeur-Barron

Brent H. Coeur-Barron is of counsel to the firm's Corporate Practice Group and the director of the firm's Estate Planning & Trust Administration Practice Group. Mr. Coeur-Barron's estate planning, probate and trust administration practice involves the representation of clients in the preparation of wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts and related documents and agreements to achieve estate tax deferral, capital gains deferral and asset protection goals. He has significant experience in drafting, funding and advising on the governance and management of children's trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, life insurance trusts, grantor retained interest trusts (including charitable trusts) and qualified personal residence trusts. Mr. Coeur-Barron also handles probate matters, including Heggstad actions, trust administration and trust accounting matters. Mr. Coeur-Barron's business and corporate practice focuses on the representation of clients in the formation and organization of new companies, including corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and business trusts. Organization of new companies includes the drafting, as necessary, of articles of incorporation, bylaws, partnership agreements, operating agreements, trust agreements, and shareholder agreements. He also represents clients with financing, deal structuring, risk management, contract drafting and review, and negotiation of various business transactions. Mr. Coeur-Barron's business and corporate practice also extends to transactions involving exempt securities financings which is focused on the representation of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals in raising capital by the issuance of debt and securities in transactions exempt under Regulation D of the Securities Act of 1933 and state securities laws. Over the past 28 years, Mr. Coeur-Barron served as General Counsel (3 years) and Director of Internal Audit and Compliance (2 years) for a national healthcare company and practiced corporate and healthcare law with two national law firms. He was a partner of an Orange County based law firm for over 10 years immediately prior to joining the firm. Mr. Coeur-Barron also practiced as a Certified Public Accountant. Additionally, Mr. Coeur-Barron previously taught legal writing at the University of Southern California Law Center and a class in healthcare law in the graduate program at the Loma Linda University School of Public Health. He has lectured extensively on corporate governance and healthcare law topics. Mr. Coeur-Barron earned his law degree from the University of Southern California in 1985. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Stanislaus in 1978.

Catherine J. Weinberg

Catherine J. Weinberg is partner of the firm and a member of the firm's Real Estate Litigation, Real Estate and Corporate Practice Groups. Ms. Weinberg's practice is focused on the representation of owners of commercial real estate, including dealing with development, leasing, municipal permitting and hearings, as well as landlord/tenant disputes, both simple and complex. She has extensive experience in representing landowners, landlords and property managers in connection with unlawful detainers, lease disputes and breaches of contract. Ms. Weinberg is also admitted in all California Federal District Courts and is experienced in dealing with tenant bankruptcies and minimizing their effect on landlords. She has successfully prosecuted and defended numerous lawsuits through the completion of trial as well as negotiated favorable settlements for her clients through mediation and arbitration. Ms. Weinberg's approach in pursuing, defending and resolving disputes involves the careful weighing of the legal merits of each case with sound business judgment to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients. Ms. Weinberg earned her law degree from Whittier Law School in 2002 where she served as an editor of the Whittier Law Review and was a fellow at the Center for Children's Rights. Previously, she was enrolled in a graduate program at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University where she taught undergraduate students in American Law and Politics, Constitutional Law and Comparative Government classes, earning her Master of Arts degree in 1994. Michael G. Robinson

Michael G. Robinson is a partner of the firm and a member of the firm's Real Estate, Finance and Corporate Practice Groups. Mr. Robinson's practice specializes in the representation of owners, developers, and retailers in connection with the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing, development and redevelopment of shopping centers, stand-alone retail sites, as well as office, industrial and other commercial property. He has extensive experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial real estate documents, including retail and other commercial leases, major tenant leases, purchase and sale agreements, property encumbrances including easements, CC&Rs, declarations, reciprocal access and parking easements, financing documents (including legal opinion letters), and related documents, as well as handling other complex real estate transactional matters. Mr. Robinson also has experience drafting and negotiating other commercial agreements and corporate documentation, including corporate formation documents, operating agreements and bylaws, partnership agreements, corporate resolutions and consents, transfer and assignment documents, and related agreements. Michael J. Mirkovich

Michael J. Mirkovich is a partner of the firm and a member of the firm's Real Estate, Finance and Corporate Practice Groups. Mr. Mirkovich's practice is focused in the area of commercial real estate transactions, including retail, office, restaurant, ground and build-to-suit leasing as well as real estate acquisitions, development, financing and sales. In leasing matters, he represents both landlords and tenants for the use of space in both large and small-scale shopping centers, power centers, shopping malls and strip malls. In addition to real estate matters, Mr. Mirkovich has extensive experience in general business representation, counseling and strategic planning. Mr. Mirkovich's involvement with real estate began in the late 1970's as a California licensed Real Estate Salesperson working in the investment property segment of the industry. Prior to and continuing after his admission to the State Bar of California, Mr. Mirkovich was employed in the community development division of Orange County's largest land owning company. He was primarily active in transactions regarding the sale of land to many well-recognized residential home and condo developers. Mr. Mirkovich's practice is fully focused on transactional matters, with many years prior of active engagement in litigation primarily in real estate and business disputes. He takes particular pride in his role as attorney-at-law and in his commitment additionally as counselor. Mr. Mirkovich earned his law degree from Western State University College of Law in 1983. He earned his Masters of Science degree in environmental studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 1976 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1973.

William D. Buckner is the Managing Partner of the firm and director of the firm's Real Estate and Corporate Practice Groups. Mr. Buckner's practice focuses on commercial real estate development, leasing, finance, acquisitions and dispositions. With over 30 years of industry experience, he has represented hundreds of developers, landowners and investors in successfully closing a multitude of sophisticated real estate development projects, with particular emphasis on shopping centers, regional malls and power centers. Mr. Buckner is well known in the retail industry where his practice focuses on negotiating retail leases with the anchor tenants. Mr. Buckner earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in 1981 where he served as an editor of the Loyola Entertainment Law Journal. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California in 1978. William D. Buckner joined the firm in 1984 where he remained until 1990 when he departed to form the law firm of Kendall & Buckner. In 1994, Mr. Young and Mr. Buckner merged their law firms to form Buckner & Young. After the retirement of Mr. Young, Mr. Buckner established the firm William D. Buckner & Associates, Inc., a California professional law corporation. Mr. Buckner has continued to grow his practice by expanding his practice areas and client base in all areas related to of the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of commercial real estate, with a strong emphasis in retail and mixed-used development and redevelopment. As a result, over the years the firm has undergone many name changes to reflect Mr. Buckner's association with various other prominent and respected attorneys who have complimented his real estate practice.
