DEAN supports schools for an extended period. We provide the hardware and software, train teachers on how to use the digital learning tools and support them in class... From the first project onwards, we consciously decided to make the school the project owner and also ask for a financial contribution. We continue to apply this principle that contributes to ownership and involvement to this day... DEAN was founded in 2001 as Viafrica with the objective of using IT to promote development in sub-Saharan Africa. Based on a concrete request for help from secondary schools in Tanzania, we started facilitating computer classrooms in 2002.
