Larry Alexander

Larry earned his A.A. in Psychology in 1986, then his B.A. in Religion in 1988 at Mount Vernon Nazarene College. Larry moved on to earn his M.S in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University in 1993. He has continued his education through various trainings and course work including, General Mediation Training, Business and Finance Training, Business and Management course work. Larry became Registered with the State of Ohio Psychology Board in January 1993. He became a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in 1998, a Licensed Professional Counselor (PC) in 2005, a Licensed Clinical Counselor (PCC) in 2006 and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor/Training Supervisor (PCC-S). Larry has served as a mental health counselor since 1984. He has worked as a Clinical Counselor at Alexander and Associates since 2005. Prior to this position he has served as a Mental Health/AoD Therapist at Consolidated Care Inc., MST Therapist at Oesterlen Services for Youth, Mental Health Tech at Mercy Health Center/Inpatient Unit, Adjunct Instructor at Clark State Community College, Urbana University and Wright State University, Unit Director at Catalpa Health and Rehab, Social Services Director at ESSEX of Springfield, and Program Director/Therapist/Behavior Management Specialist at ACOSEP Drug/Alcohol and Mental Health Services. Larry became a counselor because he had an interest in helping people sort through their issues, and has found that his favorite part of being a counselor has been helping people find new solutions and options. His personal goal is to be on the cutting edge of therapeutic intervention and to be constantly learning and expanding his personal skills and knowledge base. He also has a key focus on sharing his knowledge and utilizing his experiences to teach new and fellow counselors.
