MCLESKEY-TODD

In the early 1920's Dr. Harvey Todd and Dr. Henry McLeskey opened McLeskey & Todd Drug Store in Anderson and Pickens, SC. In 1923 they acquired Bost Drug Store in Greer and relocated it under the McLeskey & Todd Drug Store name to 107 E. Poinsett Street where it remained until 1972. In 1966, Eugene Bettis completed the purchase of McLeskey & Todd where he began working in 1927 as a soda-jerk. He relocated the store to its current location in the former Dixie Home Store Building on the corner of West Church St and North Main St in downtown Greer and renamed it McLeskey-Todd Pharmacy. During the 1980's McLeskey-Todd operated several other locations including one in the Peachtree Plaza shopping center. Following the death of Mr. Bettis, the Bettis family sold the pharmacy to Harmon Wall Properties and Peggy Harmon became the pharmacy manager in 1996.
