Bijan (Bij) Agarwal - President

Bijan Agarwal is president of ConocoPhillips Canada. Bijan (Bij) Agarwal is president of ConocoPhillips Canada. Previously, he was the president & general manager, Indonesia, a role he assumed in November 2016. Agarwal began his career with Phillips Petroleum Co. in 1986 as a reservoir engineer in Borger, Texas. In 1991, he moved to the Reservoir Management group in Bartlesville, Okla. Since then, he has held several upstream engineering and leadership positions in Norway, the U.K. and Dubai. He was named director, Upstream Capital Investments in 2004, where he developed an executive learning program on managing major capital investments. He was appointed subsurface manager for the Qatargas LNG megaproject in Doha in 2006. In 2008, Agarwal relocated to Calgary, Canada as vice president, North Area Development, Western Canada Gas. He was named vice president, Commercial Assets for ConocoPhillips Alaska in 2010, and in 2015 he was named vice president, Rockies Business Unit, where his responsibilities included the San Juan, Bakken, Niobrara, Wyoming and Utah assets. Agarwal earned a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master of Science from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London. He received his Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in 2007. Agarwal is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has served on the boards of the Indonesian Petroleum Association and USINDO, as well as the United Way of Anchorage.

Billie Korsunskiy - VP

Billie Korsunskiy is the vice president, Corporate Services responsible for the Human Resources, Communications and Community Investment functions for ConocoPhillips Canada. Korsunskiy began her career with Phillips Petroleum in 1991 and has held various HR corporate and business partner roles in upstream and downstream business lines in the United States and overseas. Following the ConocoPhillips merger in 2002, Korsunskiy served as a business partner in the new Houston corporate headquarters. In 2005, Korsunskiy transferred to Moscow, where she became the HR Manager, Russia & Caspian Region. From 2009-2014, she worked in Anchorage as the HR manager for the Alaska business unit. Most recently, Korsunskiy was the manager of HR Shared Services for ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Korsunskiy is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.

Chris Jackson - VP

Chris Jackson is vice president, Asset Development & Commercial for ConocoPhillips Canada (CPC), responsible for the Asset Development, Subsurface, Land, Business Development and Commercial functions. Jackson has 16 years of industry experience. Originally from Mississippi, he joined ConocoPhillips in 2007. Prior to his current role, Jackson was asset manager, Midland Basin South. Throughout his tenure with the company, he has helped lead the integration of Concho Resources, held a director role in the corporate planning and strategy group, and held various leadership positions within the Lower 48 business unit. During his time in Midland, Texas, Jackson served as a board member for Centers for Children and Family, a non-profit organization providing counselling, education and support services to children, individuals and families. He earned a bachelor's degree in Science from Mississippi State in 2007 and a master's degree in Business Administration from Rice University in 2011.

James Makowecki - VP

With more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Makowecki started his career operating wells and conducting field maintenance in the conventional heavy oil and natural gas fields of northeast Alberta. After graduating from university, he held roles in environmental protection, reclamation and remediation, security and safety. In 2009, Makowecki joined TAQA North as head of Health, Safety, Security and Environment for their operations in Canada and the United States. In this role, he focused on building a leadership-driven safety culture to deliver world-class safety performance. Makowecki joined ConocoPhillips in 2013 as manager, Oil Sands HSE, with a focus on the safe delivery of the Surmont Phase 2 expansion. With his support and guidance, ConocoPhillips has made significant strides in advancing and operationalizing a culture of high reliability (HRO). Most recently, he was vice president, with responsibility for health, safety, environmental and liability operations, regulatory, government and external relations and sustainable development. Makowecki graduated from Concordia University of Edmonton with a B.Sc. in Environmental Science.

Kenny Brunette

Kenny Brunette is vice president, Finance and Shared Services, with responsibilities for ConocoPhillips Canada's Finance, Information Technology, Reserves and Frontiers teams. Brunette joined the Canadian leadership team in December 2021. Since joining the company in 2008, Brunette has held various roles in Treasury, Finance & Performance Analysis, Strategy & Portfolio Management, and Upstream Investment Appraisal. Most recently, he was the manager, Planning for ConocoPhillips and was based in Houston, TX. Born and educated in Texas, Brunette received a BS in Finance and Management from Trinity University in San Antonio and an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin.

Stephen Lee

Stephen Lee is ConocoPhillips Canada's managing counsel. He has been in this role since summer 2016, following his appointment as assistant general counsel in 2014. Lee leads a team of lawyers, paralegals and security professionals, which provides oversight on legal, compliance and security matters, as well as advising on corporate strategy and business plans. Since joining ConocoPhillips in 2008 as a senior solicitor, Lee has represented the company's interests in various regulatory proceedings, joint-ventures, aboriginal benefit agreement negotiations, and commercial, supply chain and acquisition and divestiture transactions, including transportation infrastructure, oil sands and offshore interests. Lee has more than 25 years of energy law experience. He began his legal career in 1994 with the then Calgary-based law firm of Howard, Mackie, and specialized in regulatory and environmental law throughout his career in private practice. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Lee earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Calgary in 1989 and his Bachelor of Laws in 1994 from the University of Saskatchewan. He was called to the Alberta bar in 1995 and the Northwest Territories bar in 2002.

Vanessa Rawlins

Vanessa Rawlins is vice president, Operations & Capital Execution for ConocoPhillips Canada (CPC), responsible for the Production Operations, Drilling, Completions, Projects, and Supply Chain functions. She joined ConocoPhillips in 2008 to build an asset integrity program for the business unit's oil sands assets, after working for a decade as a mechanical engineer and inspector/auditor for the pressure equipment regulator in Alberta. During her tenure at ConocoPhillips, Rawlins spent 10 years at the company's Surmont operation in several leadership roles, including as Operations Superintendent. Her responsibilities during this period included operations, operations excellence, integrated planning, asset and operating integrity, and process safety. Rawlins has experience in both conventional and unconventional assets. In 2018, she moved to ConocoPhillips' Lower 48 (L48) business unit where she served as Permian Operations Manager, and later, as Delaware Operations Manager within the Permian Basin. Most recently, she was the Health and Safety Manager for the L48, responsible for implementing a new HSE management system, and a key player in the Concho integration. Originally from Nova Scotia, Rawlins holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. She is a Professional Engineer in Alberta and served on the board of the Permian Road Safety Coalition during her time in the L48.
