Cathryn Cock

Job Titles:

Cath joined White Cliffs as a Veterinary Care Assistant in July 2021. She started her career in the equine world as a groom and instructor before venturing into veterinary practice as a receptionist in early 2020 prior to joining White Cliffs. Cath is training as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, with interests in nutrition and dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her Alsatian-cross Lily, horse riding and helping out on the family farm.

Dr Akiko Shimada

Job Titles:

Akiko recently graduated and has recently moved to the UK from Japan, having completed her studies in Romania. Akiko follows our New Graduate Programme where she is continually supported by a mentor to develop her skills and grow professionally. Akiko has 2 rescue dogs who she brought over from Japan. In her spare time she is getting to know the area and settling into her new life. She likes fishing and water sports and being outdoors.

Dr Chris Reichmann TA

Chris was born and grew up in Munich. He qualified from Munich Vet School in 1996 and started to work in the UK soon after. He spent 7 years in a mixed practice in Rye before moving to Manchester for a short period. He then worked in Dover and Canterbury for a few years before joining up with Julie to open White Cliffs Veterinary Surgery in 2010. He lives on his little smallholding outside Ashford, where he keeps sheep, pigs, bees and all kinds of birds. He shares the house with 6 cats (at the last count), some rescues, some home bred. In his spare time, Chris plays tennis or gardens and tries to build a new home at the same time as keeping the smallholding under control.

Dr Julie Culver

Julie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2002 having taken a rather unorthodox route to becoming a vet! She originally trained as a Jewellery Designer and spent her twenties in London working for some of the large diamond houses. She made the decision to become a Vet in 1995. After graduating, Julie returned to Kent and currently lives in her home village of Eastry with her husband, John and two dogs, Dora and Lily (both Labradors). She also has two rescued cats Lolly and Thomas as well as an ever increasing number of geese and chickens. In December 2010 she opened White Cliffs Vets with Chris where they could offer the kind of veterinary medicine, care and service that they are both passionate about.

Dr Katrina Farrow

Katrina joined as a permanent member of the team in 2023 after a few years of locum work. With 17 years veterinary experience, Katrina has a particular interest in dermatology and managing your itchy dogs! She has 1 dog, a Labrador called Mymble who thinks she is a lapdog! In her spare time, Katrina enjoys Crossfit and playing the piano. She is also a member of a choir and can sometimes be heard singing in her consult room!

Dr Yvonne Rae

Yvonne joined us in 2022 having relocated from Derby to Kent - although she is originally from Scotland! She graduated from vet school in 2009 and has worked in both veterinary hospitals and first opinion practices. She has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery as well as a Diploma in Conservation Medicine and a Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. She will soon be starting her Certificate in Surgery to add to her list of qualifications! Yvonne has two cats called Midna and Loki. In her spare time she likes cooking, sewing and computer games.

Emma Dodd RVN

Emma qualified as an RVN in 2005, and joined us at White Cliffs in December 2019. She enjoys surgeries, anaesthetics, dentals, rabbit care, and all-things cats. She has 2 beloved rescue cats Morgana and Tabby McTat, and in her spare time likes to bake, go for family walks, and generally spend as much time as possible with her 2 daughters.

Evie Steed

Evie joined us in 2020 as our Receptionist. She graduated with a first class Honours Degree in Animal Science from the University of Kent in 2019 and has worked in a Veterinary Practice as a Canine Care Assistant before joining the team at White Cliffs. Evie has completed her Bronze certificate from the British Veterinary Receptionist Association and is now working towards her Silver Certificate. Evie enjoys walking in her spare time.

Jennie Blackmore

Jennie joined us in 2016 as our Practice Manager. She has a degree in Business Studies and Philosophy and a Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She brings a wide range of Business and Administration experience from numerous industries including Telecommunications, Travel and Education. Jennie runs the overall and day to day administration of the practice. She lives in Worth with her husband and two daughters and enjoys riding her horses in her spare time.

Jodie Maple RVN

Jodie joined us in 2019, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from her 10 years in practice. She enjoys radiography and being involved in the direct care of our patients. She also holds the very busy role of looking after our insurance claims. Jodie lives with her husband, daughter and 2 cats. She enjoys walking and teaching her daughter about animals in her spare time.

Nikolina Jackson RVN

Nikolina qualified in 2016 and joined us in 2019. She has interests in nutrition and radiography, and enjoys supporting the Veterinary Surgeons with surgeries, particularly when it comes to "scrubbing in". She also is partial to a scale and polish dental procedure. In her spare time, she has a rescue cat called Moose, and enjoys spending time surfing in Cornwall, cycling and travelling when she can.

Rhoni Allen RVN

Rhoni qualified in 2014 and joined us in August 2019. She is our go-to dispensing guru, keeping the tidiest and most organised of dispensaries! She has a keen interest in patient physiotherapy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, and spending as much time as possible on Dymchurch beach.
