Caitlin Marley

Caitlin Marley is a Chartered Structural Engineer and is Rendel's Market Sector Leader for Nuclear and Energy. With over 18 years of experience as a practising civil and structural engineer she has developed her technical, management and leadership skills in a variety of project-based roles covering heavy civil engineering, maritime structures, immersed tube tunnels, bridge superstructures and substructures, and industrial buildings for the nuclear industry. Caitlin's early experience in Australia included design work on two major Iron Ore Export Wharfs in the Pilbara (Western Australia) for BHP Billiton Iron Ore and Rio Tinto Expansion Projects. In 2007 Caitlin relocated to London to undertake her taught Masters in Advanced Structural Engineering at Imperial College London, and subsequently gained experience in bridge and industrial structures design. Since joining Rendel in 2013, Caitlin has been involved in a wide variety of projects including the Manchester Ship Canal vertical lift bridge, Femernbelt Immersed Tube Tunnel, Thames Tideway and the Shatin Immersed Tube Tunnel in Hong Kong. She undertook the role of Resident Site Engineer for the Sandy Bottom Ports Project in the Bahamas, and more recently has managed multi-disciplinary design teams for Contract C1 for the ALIGN JV on HS2. Since stepping into the role of Market Sector Leader for Nuclear and Energy, Caitlin has been leading the Rendel team working on the Hinkley Turbine Hall Building for BYLOR.

Dan Squires

Dan Squires is Rendel's Director of Industry and Energy and has over 25 years of experience of global civil and maritime engineering projects. His broad base of experience covers studies, inspections, finite element analysis, design, project planning, project management, preparation of contract documents and drawings, tender evaluation and site/construction supervision. Dan leads Rendel projects teams in all stages of the project life cycle covering studies, inspections, finite element analysis, design, project planning, project management, preparation of contract documents and drawings, tender evaluation and site/construction supervision. Dan also has significant experience related to contract or tender document preparation and procurement using various forms of contract (including NEC, ICE and FIDIC). Dan has acted as project director on a broad spectrum of international projects including Melbourne Metro Tunnel, Australia; Yangong Port container terminal, Myanmar; Poti Port expansion, Georgia; Hay Point, Australia; Port of Abidjan new container terminal, Côte d'Ivoire; and Al Zour refinery in Kuwait, to name just a few. He also heads up Rendel's business development activities.

George Kapos

George Kapos is a Chartered Civil Structural engineer with 18 years of experience in major transport infrastructure and process industry projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia. He has key knowledge and expertise in the design of concrete and steel structures ranging from buildings to bridges. During his career to date George has worked on several significant transportation projects, notably the Colne Valley Viaduct (High Speed 2) in the UK; The North West Rail Link (NWRL) in Australia; the New Tyne Crossing in the UK; The New Europe Bridge in Bulgaria - Romania and the Shah Amanat Bridge in Bangladesh. On the Colne Valley Viaduct (HS2) George is the Engineering Manager leading the design of the 3.4km Viaduct and associated Approach Embankments. George graduated from a three-year BEng course in Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds in 2002. After graduation he received an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) scholarship and successfully completed an MSc degree in Infrastructure Asset Maintenance and Management at the University of Leeds. In 2003 he undertook a one-year MSc degree course in Concrete Structures at Imperial College, London and joined Rendel in 2004.

Jimmy Brasse

Jimmy Brasse has over 18 years of experience working on multi-disciplined projects both in the railway and highway sector in the UK. Jimmy has extensive experience in the design and repairs of short span bridges. His key experiences include bridge designs, bridge inspections, bridge assessments, bridge repairs and strengthening works, site supervision for bridge constructions, site supervision for rail possessions and site investigation works, design and supervision of temporary works, metro (tramway) design, retaining walls, foundations, lift shaft and lift pit designs, project management and design management. Jimmy has worked closely with Network Rail and the Highway Agency on various framework projects. He has also worked closely with several contractors and local Authorities on various design and build schemes. Prior to joining Rendel, Jimmy held both Structures Lead and Design Lead roles for the Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) for a period of over 3 years for the Birmingham Westside Metro Extension from Grand Central Station to Centenary Square. Jimmy is currently the Assignment Manager for the Ironbridge Access Study project responsible for the inspections, assessments and possible repairs to 3no. bridges consisting of both concrete and steel constructions. Jimmy is also currently the Overbridge Lead responsible for the CAT 3 check of the overbridges and culverts for the C2 contract of HS2 project.

Katherine Hurst

Keith Taylor

With over 30 years of experience on major transport infrastructure projects, Keith is a highly competent manager and has led teams carrying out design, checking, construction supervision, inspection and maintenance on projects across the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, which include bridges, tunnels (including immersed tunnels), highways and port and marine facilities. Keith has completed several major design projects and taken responsibility for the preparation of consultancy and sub consultancy agreements; pre-qualification and procurement of consultants and contractors; coordination of design consultants; client liaison; financial monitoring of project budgets; and planning and programming. He is currently managing projects in Bangladesh and Ukraine, as well as several high-profile infrastructure projects in the UK. His projects include Padma Multipurpose Bridge and Shah Amanat Bridge, Bangladesh; several large road projects in Ukraine; New Tyne Tunnel, UK; New Europe Bridge, Romania and Bulgaria; and Femern Fixed Link, Denmark/Germany. Keith leads Rendel's award winning ICE training scheme.

Matthew Lyons

Matthew Lyons is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Rendel's Market Sector Director for Industry. Since joining Rendel in 2013, he has proven his technical and management skills in a variety of worldwide projects covering heavy civil engineering, maritime structures and bridges. As a technical lead and project manager he has led teams to deliver at all stages of the project lifecycle including FEED, tender and detailed design. Matthew has developed particular expertise in major maritime infrastructure projects, notably; Hay Point Berth 2 Independent Review; New Container Port Project in Abidjan; Petrochemical Refinery Integration Al Zour (PRIZe); Al Zour Refinery; MAB Sea Island Life Assessment, Kuwait and Aktau Sea Port Extension, Kazakhstan. His experience has involved projects worldwide and he has worked in Australia, Kuwait and South Korea. Matthew has further experience with major infrastructures projects through the detailed design on AMAS Bridges and Obhur Creek Bridges tender. Matthew has a range of office, IT and structural analysis skills including AutoCAD, LUSAS, WALLAP and SAM. He is competent in the use of British, European, Australian and American Standards.

Neil Kerridge

Neil Kerridge heads up Rendel Ingerop's growing Sydney office. Neil has worked for Rendel for 15 years, based in the company's London office as well undertaking a series of overseas postings including Indonesia, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. Most recently, he project managed the High Speed 2 (HS2) Contract C1 as part of Rendel's team on the design of the iconic Colne Valley Viaduct, the UK's longest rail bridge.

Peter Knee

Peter is a civil engineer with over 30 years' experience in the transport sector and is Rendel's Technical Director for Highways. His role covers the UK highways market and international PPP projects. Peter's career commenced in Australia with a NSW State Road Authority in 1987, and in 1996 he completed a Masters of Business Administration degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Since 1997 he has worked internationally on transport projects in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Lebanon, Uganda, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Solomon Islands, Zambia, Lesotho, Ukraine, and Australia. His specialisations include Public Private Partnerships (PPP), institutional strengthening, policy development, feasibility studies, contract management (FIDIC), procurement, site supervision, quality assurance, asset management, pavement design, benefit monitoring, strategic planning, project planning and programming, labour based road maintenance and community participatory methods.

Richard Valenta

Richard is a chartered civil engineer with over 25 years' experience gained on major infrastructure projects including highways, railways, bridges, drainage structures and tunnel projects. He has extensive experience in project management, project coordination, team leadership, drainage design and highway design on large multidisciplinary projects as well as on local road projects, urban projects and development projects. Richard has worked on projects in the following countries: Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Ireland, Kenya, Moldova, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UK, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. During his career, he has worked as Project Director, Project Manager, Principle Highways Engineer, Team Leader, Senior Highways Engineer and Senior Drainage Engineer. Richard joined international consultant Rendel Limited (formerly High-Point Rendel Ltd) in September 2013 as Assistant Director for Highways after having worked as a civil engineer on major highways and infrastructure projects in various countries for major international engineering consultants. In his current role of Director for Highways Richard has been mostly involved in the IFI-funded and PPP highways projects in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Shailesh Bhudia

Shailesh Bhudia is a chartered engineer and has over 17 years of experience as a practising structural engineer, during which time he has developed both her technical and management skills in a variety of project-based roles covering heavy civil engineering structures, maritime structures, bridges and buildings. He has key experience in the design of steel, timber, masonry, concrete structures and pre-stressed concrete, ranging from buildings, maritime and tunnelling structures. Shailesh has strong analytical and modelling skills and experience of design and assessment in reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete and steel, using British Standards and Eurocodes, and has a sound understanding of various contracts used in the industry and their implementation. Shailesh has project experience on the Thames Barrier, UK; Sandy Bottom Small Ports Project, Bahamas; Obhur Creek Bridge and Secondary Bridges, Saudi Arabia; New Ro-Ro Berth, Dar es Salaam Port, Tanzania; Aktau International Seaport Expansion of Northern Terminal, Kazakhstan; Urea and Ammonia Jetty, Gabon; Hay Point Coal Terminal Expansion 3, Australia; and Aqaba New Port Development, Jordan. Shailesh has managed multidisciplinary teams to deliver detailed design schemes (including construction packages), and various projects as a Lead Design Manager delivering tender/reference design schemes. Shailesh worked on the New Tyne Crossing, BP Isle of Grain Jetties and Undercliff Drive, Isle of Wight. He is currently working on HS2 shafts team reviewing and providing technical support to the structures team. Shailesh is currently leading the Ports Market sector within Rendel and is looking into business development opportunities both in the UK and Internationally.

Virginie Lanfrey

Virginie Lanfrey is Rendel's Director of Infrastructure and a board director. She is a chartered engineer with 20 years of experience in managing and delivering infrastructure projects of all sizes for state and local government, and for contractors. She is a Certified Practising Project Manager with the Australian Institute of Project Management and holds a Diploma of Project Management. Her broad base of experience covers studies, design, project planning, project management, preparation of contract documents and drawings, tender evaluation and site/construction supervision. Virginie's major project roles include project manager for independent design checking on Melbourne Metro Tunnel and on WestConnex 3a M4-M5 Link Tunnels, and project manager for an independent review on North East Link, Between 2015 and 2018, she was the program manager for two road maintenance contracts in Sydney, which included projects such as the Northern Beaches Bus Rapid Transit Program (B-Line) and Old Windsor Road widening.
