APRIL R. SCOTT

April earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology from Appalachian State University in 2014 and her Docorate of Audiology from the University of Memphis in 2018. She completed her fourth year of externship at Alamance Ear, Nose and Throat in Burlington, NC. Dr. Scott is clinically certified in Audiology (CCC-A) by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Scott enjoys working with patients of all ages and is particularly interested in diagnostic hearing evaluations, and hearing aid fittings and managment. In her spare time, Dr. Scott enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, exercising, outdoor activities, thrift shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Cheryl Medley

Cheryl Medley completed her undergraduate degree at Louisiana Tech University. She received her Masters of Arts in Audiology from the University of Texas at Austin. ("Hook'em Horns!") She has been practicing audiology and dispensing hearing aids since 2000. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.

CLAIRE MORGAN

Claire earned her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2016 from Gallaudet University. She received her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Longwood University in 2012. She holds her certificate of clinical competency (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists. She is a member of American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She enjoys learning about advances in hearing aid technology and using that information to meet the needs of her patients.

David A. Clark

Dr. Clark completed his undergraduate degree and medical training at the University of Virginia, where he was Tau Beta Pi (Phi Beta Kappa in engineering), and earned his medical degree with honors. He later completed his residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Following residency, he served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center, where he trained numerous residents in otolaryngology. Dr. Clark then completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with nationally renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Farrior in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Clark enjoys all aspects of otolaryngology but has special expertise in reconstructive and cosmetic facial surgery. He regularly performs facial reconstruction for patients undergoing Mohs skin cancer surgery, and he has performed thousands of flaps and skin grafts in this setting. Dr. Clark also has a special interest in functional and cosmetic nasal surgery, as he has a wealth of experience in primary and revision rhinoplasty. Dr. Clark and his wife, Laura, have two boys and reside in Raleigh. They are members of White Memorial Presbyterian Church, where Dr. Clark has been active in Stephen Ministry and medical missions. During the past several years he has traveled to Bolivia, where he established an operating room for treatment of patients in Santa Cruz. Most recently, he has worked as part of a surgical team with Mission of Hope Bolivia.

DAVID CROWLEY

David earned his Doctor of Audiology degree in 2010 from Gallaudet University. He received his bachelor's degree in communicative disorders from the University of Central Florida. He is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists. He is a member of American Academy of Audiology. "How we communicate with others ultimately determines the quality of our lives," he said. "My goal is to improve both"

Dr. Daniel Peters

R. Daniel Peters, MD is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He has also completed a fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Peters grew up in North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he studied biology and anthropology. He then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to attend the University of Michigan Medical School. During medical school, Dr. Peters was granted a NIH sponsored research fellowship in the department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. After medial school, he moved to Charlottesville, Virginia to complete a residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Virginia. Following residency, he was selected for a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. During fellowship, Dr. Peters had the opportunity to teach residents and medical students while serving as a Clinical Instructor. He joined Raleigh Capitol Ear, Nose, and Throat in December 2019. Dr. Peters' practice encompasses all aspects of general otolaryngology in both children and adults. He enjoys helping patients understand their condition so that they can be an active participant in their care. Dr. Peters has a special interest in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During fellowship, he received extensive training in rhinoplasty, skin cancer reconstruction, and facial trauma. He was also trained in both surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. When considering aesthetic surgery, he will work with you to help you achieve your goals while maintaining a natural appearance. Dr. Peters and his wife live in Raleigh with their two sons. He enjoys spending time outside with his family. He also has interests in backpacking, playing/writing music, barbeque, and college basketball.

Dr. Stanley A. Wilkins Jr.

Dr. Stanley A. Wilkins Jr. was born and raised in Durham, NC where he attended Northern High School, graduating in 1972. He completed his undergraduate studies in engineering at N.C. State University and received a master's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Wilkins completed his medical school training at the University of North Carolina in 1982. He completed his residency in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Wilkins is board- certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Dr. Wilkins specializes in all areas of ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery, including pediatric and adult problems of the ears, nose, sinuses, allergies, tumors of the face and neck. He particularly enjoys taking care of kids with ENT problems. Dr. Stan (as he prefers to be called) and his wife, Julia Nipper Wilkins, enjoy snow skiing, scuba diving, hiking, bicycling and watching NC State athletics. His hobbies include model airplanes and rockets, and board gaming. He is an active member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and participates in Bible Study Fellowship.

ELIZABETH LAROSA

Elizabeth, originially from Virginia, earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2018. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science and Disorders from James Madison University in 2014. Elizabeth is license by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. In her spare time, Liz loves cooking and traveling with her husband.

Elizabeth M. Hueman

Elizabeth M. Hueman, M. D. is a board certified Otolaryngologist / Head & Neck Surgeon specializing in the treatment of ear, nose, and throat conditions for adults and children. Dr. Hueman grew up in Hawaii where her father was stationed as an otolaryngologist in the Army. After spending nine years in Honolulu and Maui, she moved to Hickory, North Carolina. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She stayed in North Carolina for medical school and graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2002. She then completed her Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2007. She stayed on faculty at UTHSCSA for a year as an assistant professor while waiting for her husband to complete his residency in Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery. During this time, she started a new resident clinic in downtown San Antonio and received the residents' teaching award. Dr. Hueman's husband was relocated to Fort Bragg, NC where he served as Chief of Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery at Womack Army Medical Center. Dr. Elizabeth Hueman joined and became a partner at Fayetteville Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery where she served her patients for nine years. Dr. Hueman joined Raleigh Capitol Ear, Nose, and Throat in March 2019. Dr. Hueman's practice encompasses all areas of otolaryngology / head and neck surgery for adults and children. Her clinical interests include pediatric ENT, allergic disease, sinus disease, snoring, throat infections, neck masses, and disorders of the ears/hearing. In addition to providing medical treatment, Dr. Hueman also enjoys offering surgical treatment including tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, ear tubes, thyroid surgery, sinus surgery, and neck surgery. She enjoys treating all age groups and loves the variety that ENT has to offer. Dr Hueman and her husband have three children--two sons and a daughter. Her personal interests include spending time/traveling with her family, playing tennis, and running.

EVAN FISCHER

Evan is a North Carolina native from Charlotte, NC. Evan earned both his Doctorate in Audiology (2019) and his Bachelor of Science in Biology (2015) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Evan is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathlogists and Audiologists. He enjoys assisting the patients achieve their communcation goals through hearing aids and other assistive devices. When he is not cheering on the UNC TarHeels or Carolina Panthers, Evan is always on the lookout for a great place to eat.

H. Craig Price

Dr. Price, a native of eastern North Carolina, completed his undergraduate and medical school studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar and Fellow. His postgraduate surgical and otolaryngology training were completed at UNC hospitals. While at UNC, he also participated in a year-long head & neck oncology fellowship, and he remains on the clinical faculty at UNC Chapel Hill as a clinical instructor. Dr. Price is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. He is also a past president of the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology. He has specialty training in pediatric airway disorders. He enjoys treating all aspects of pediatric and adult ear, nose and throat disorders, and he regularly helps patients with a wide variety of ENT problems. Dr. Price is also very involved in the Raleigh community and has served on the boards of the Salvation Army of Raleigh, the Urban Ministries of Raleigh and the Open Door Clinic. Dr. Price is married and has four children. He and his wife, Pamela, were named co-volunteers of the year for the Open Door Clinic. He coaches several sports - most notably basketball-and has recently started playing tennis. He enjoys the beach and traveling to the tropics when he can.

Haley Gilroy

Haley Gilroy completed her undergraduate studies in Communication with a minor in Linguistics at North Carolina State University in 2015. She received her master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University in 2017 and has specialized in providing care to the adult and geriatric population since that time. Haley is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as the NC State Board of Examiners. Her areas of interest include voice disorders, swallowing impairment, speech-language disorders and cognitive deficits. She has a great deal of experience in working with voice disorders and evidenced based interventions to rehabilitate the voice. Her clinical experiences include muscle tension dysphonia, vocal cord nodules/polyps, presbylarynges, vocal cord dysfunction, and instruction for singers and vocal performers.

Jeevan B. Ramakrishnan

Dr. Ramakrishnan completed his medical school training at the University of Texas-Houston and his otolaryngology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He then completed a fellowship in advanced rhinology, allergy, and minimally invasive skull base surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He currently serves as the director of the Raleigh Capitol Sinus and Allergy Center and specializes in the comprehensive management of nasal and sinus disorders, including nasal obstruction, allergies, chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps and pediatric sinusitis. He also performs nasal surgery, primary and revision sinus surgery, frontal sinus surgery, and in-office sinus procedures. His practice also includes all aspects of adult and pediatric ENT. "I became a doctor because I wanted to dedicate my life and career to helping others, " he said. "I had ear tubes placed as a child after suffering with painful ear infections. I have watched my mother suffer with allergies all her life. I have suffered from sinus problems myself. This personal experience with ENT conditions, coupled with a fascination with these parts of the human body and the medical and surgical treatments of these conditions, led me to pursue this specialty. " He is a Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society and is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He was born and raised in Texas and now resides in Raleigh with his wife and two children.

Jennifer DiNunzio

Jennifer DiNunzio completed her undergraduate studies in communication disorders at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC in 1989. She received her master's degree in speech-language and hearing sciences from Temple University in 1992. Jennifer is certified by the American Speech- Language -Hearing Association as well as the NC State Board of Examiners. She has specialized in working with the pediatric population since joining Capitol ENT in 1993. Her areas of interest include early language development, preschool language and phonological impairments, preschool fluency disorders and school-aged articulation and language disorders. She also has experience in working with children with autism.

Kiersten is a North Carolina Native from Charlotte, NC. Kiersten earned her Doctorate in Audiology in 2016 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from East Carolina University in 2012. Kiersten is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA). Kiersten is ABA Certified through the American Board of Audiology (ABA), is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence for Audiologists (CCC-A) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Kiersten is also a member of the North Carolina Audiology Association. She enjoys assisting patients regain the ability to communicate with loved ones through the use of new hearing aid technology. Laura D. Brown

Dr. Laura Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Virginia. An Echols Scholar and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, She completed study abroad programs in Mexico and Italy. She received her medical degree with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Laura Brown completed her internship in general surgery and her residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery while at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. During her residency, she was trained in all aspects of otolaryngology. She especially enjoyed training at the Children's Hospital of Alabama and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she spent eight months each. Her practice encompasses all aspects of general otolaryngology with special interest in pediatric otolaryngology (including newborns), allergy evaluation and management, nasal and sinus surgery, hearing loss, and endocrine surgery. She is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Dr. Brown lives in Raleigh with her husband and three boys. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending soccer games, and being outdoors.

Mark S. Brown

Dr. Mark Brown completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis and completed medical school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He then completed two years of a general surgery residency and four years of an otolaryngology - head and neck surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Prior to coming to Raleigh in 1992, he served as Instructor of Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Brown is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Mark Brown specializes in all areas of ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery, including pediatric and adult problems of the ears, nose, sinuses, and throat, including tonsil and adenoid problems, ear infections, allergies, tumors of the face and neck, nose breathing problems and sinus problems, laryngeal and voice disorders. He particularly enjoys ear surgery, pediatric ENT, and counseling both adult patients and parents about their or their child's ENT problems. "Specializing in otolaryngology is rewarding because we take care of patients in all stages of life, from newborns to senior citizens. It is a fascinating specialty because it involves very complex anatomy and a wide range of surgical procedures, including microsurgery." Dr. Brown said. "While we do treat patients with life-threatening health problems, much of what we do has more to do with improving patients' quality of life. Most patients feel much better and are happier after our medical or surgical treatment of their ENT problems. This makes our specialty very rewarding." Dr. Mark Brown and his wife, Kathy, have lived in Raleigh since 1992. They enjoy spending time with their daughter and son. Mark W. Clarkson

Dr. Clarkson, the youngest of four children, was born in Roanoke, VA. He graduated as valedictorian of his class at Graham High School in Bluefield, VA, in 1983. At the University of Virginia, he earned a degree in religious studies with distinction, graduating as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Immediately after college, he proceeded to medical school, also at the University of Virginia. He graduated in 1991 as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and completed his general surgery internship at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, a private hospital in downtown Columbus, Ohio. His residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery was completed at the Ohio State University Hospitals in 1996. His residency included a broad exposure to all surgical and non-surgical aspects of otolaryngology, including a year of training at Children's Hospital of Columbus, during which time cared exclusively for pediatric patients. Dr. Clarkson has been with Raleigh Capitol ENT since 1996. He and his wife of 26 years have three children. He has served as a deacon at Colonial Baptist Church, where he is still a member, and served on the board of Cary Christian School, where his children attended for 9 years. He was chairman of the ENT Department at Rex Hospital for six years and was also a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Rex. He is currently the President/Managing Partner of Raleigh Capitol ENT. He is an avid golfer, cyclist, and a novice hunter. He still fantasizes about writing the next great American novel. Professionally, Dr. Clarkson's practice encompasses the full spectrum of otolaryngology, including nasal and sinus surgery, otology, and head and neck surgery, as well as general otolaryngology. His special interests include pediatric otolaryngology, sinus disease, and thyroid surgery, but he is available for evaluation of any ENT-related problems.

Matthew J. Gerber

Born and raised in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., Dr. Matthew Gerber graduated magna cum laude from The College of William and Mary in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Dr. Gerber earned his medical degree from The University of Maryland-Baltimore, where he also graduated magna cum laude as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. Dr. Gerber completed both his general surgery internship and his residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at The University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Dr. Gerber's residency included thorough training in both pediatric and adult otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Dr. Gerber's practice encompasses all aspects of head and neck medicine and surgery for both children and adults. He particularly enjoys taking care of pediatric patients, as well as helping patients with diseases involving ears, nose and sinuses, and the thyroid. Dr. Gerber, his wife, Kathryn, and their two children live in Raleigh. They enjoy a variety of interests including athletics, photography, and fishing. Dr. Gerber has enjoyed coaching youth basketball, soccer, and baseball through the Salvation Army Athletic and CASL programs. He and his wife are active adult leaders in Scouting with their children's Troops. Their family particularly enjoys watching ACC basketball and visiting the North Carolina coast.

Melanie Corgill

Melanie Corgill-Cox received both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, completing her master's degree in speech and hearing sciences in 1989. Melanie has dual certification and licensure in the fields of audiology and speech/language pathology. She has provided speech pathology assessment and intervention services since 1987. Melanie joined our practice in 1992. She received her Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Science in 1987 and her Masters of Sciences in Speech and Hearing Science in 1989 from the University of South Alabama. She trained at The Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama and has dual certification and licensure in the fields of Audiology and Speech and Language Pathology. Melanie is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. She is licensed by the NC Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologist and Audiologist as well as the NC State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board.

MICHELE M. SCHWARTZ

Michele completed her clinical fellowship in Audiology at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles in 1993. She received both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma: a master's degree in audiology in 1992 and a bachelor's degree in communication disorders in 1990. She is a member of Quota International of the Triangle, which serves the hearing impaired and disadvantaged women and children in our community. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and certified in audiology by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She holds licensing from the NC Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologist and the NC Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board. She enjoys helping patients reconnect with others through advances in hearing aid technology.

MICHELLE MILLER

Michelle earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida in 2019. Masters in Audiology in 1999 from East Carolina University and Bachelor of Science in Communication from North Carolina State University in 1997. She is certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists. She values the role an audiologist serves in assisting patients to achieve their communication goals and maintain an active lifestyle. Michelle enjoys spending her free time with her husband and children and their two rescue dogs. She is a sports fan and loves to cheer on the Wolfpack!

Nicolas-George Katsantonis

Dr. Nicolas-George (Nic) Katsantonis developed a love of medicine and surgery watching his father, a native of Greece, practice otolaryngology in St. Louis, Missouri. With this inspiration in his sails, Dr. Katsantonis received his Bachelors of Science degree with Cum Laude honors from the University of Notre Dame in 2008, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree, achieved with Summa Cum Laude honors, from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2013. He then moved to Nashville for his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which he completed in 2018. In addition to his surgical training, his experience at Vanderbilt included published research in idiopathic and acquired laryngotracheal stenosis (upper airway narrowing). He received first place in the Vanderbilt Otolaryngology Annual Resident Research Competition in 2017. Dr. Katsantonis is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is trained in all disciplines of otolaryngology, but as a surgeon, he is especially interested in head and neck cancer and its multimodal treatment, sinus disease, airway disorders, and ear disease. He enjoys treating both adults and children and identifies particularly with the latter, having undergone ENT surgery as a child. He appreciates the importance of educating patients on a disease's natural history, discussing the pros and cons of surgery and its realistic outcomes, and supporting patients through the post-operative period. While at Vanderbilt, he married his high school sweetheart Allison, now a pediatric occupational therapist, and had a son-Arthur-during his chief resident year. Dr. Katsantonis has a love for the outdoors, art, movies, cooking with his wife, and all things Notre Dame. New to North Carolina, his family is eager to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains, sample the local food scene, and get to know this beautiful state and its capital city.

R. Glen Medders

A native North Carolinian, Dr. Medders-the son of a family doctor--- grew up in Louisburg. He completed his undergraduate training and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went to Baltimore for residency training in otolaryngology / head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Medders is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. "I decided to become a doctor because I enjoyed school and the challenges of studying medicine as well having the opportunity to work in a helping profession where I could make a positive difference in people's lives," he said. "The ear, nose and throat specialty is especially rewarding because we deal with a wide variety of patients from newborns to geriatric and everything in between. We also treat a variety of illnesses using medical and surgical methods." Dr. Medders is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and community development of Raleigh. He serves on several Boards including the Art Society for the NC Museum of Art. Dr. Medders is interested in all aspects of ENT, and he particularly enjoys pediatric ENT and treatment of sinus diseases and allergies, and detection and treatment of head and neck cancers.

Stephen E. Boyce

Dr. Stephen Boyce graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with honors in 1978. He received his medical degree with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1982 and completed his residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the University of Colorado in 1988. While in Colorado, he served on the Doctor's Ski Patrol at Breckenridge, Loveland, and Winter Park ski areas. He joined Raleigh ENT in 1989 and is a fellow of both the Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the executive council of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations and is actively involved with the Kairos prison ministry. Dr. Boyce's practice encompasses all aspects of otolaryngology, but he especially enjoys pediatric ENT, thyroid and pituitary surgery, nasal and ear surgery, and treating voice disorders.

Steven H. Dennis

Dr. Dennis graduated from Duke University in 1977 and received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981. He completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1986. After practicing medicine for six years in his hometown of Henderson, NC, he moved to Raleigh in 1992. Dr. Dennis is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

Steven J. McMahon

Dr. Steve McMahon grew up in Virginia and graduated as valedictorian of his high school class in 1988. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Duke University, graduating magna cum laude in 1992. Immediately after college, he attended Emory University School of Medicine and graduated with honors in 1996. He went on to complete his internship in general surgery and his residency in otolaryngology at the Emory University Hospitals, which included extensive training in both pediatric and adult otolaryngology, as well as head and neck cancer. During his residency in Atlanta, he spent a year of dedicated research on speech and swallowing disorders. He completed his residency in May 2002 and entered private practice in Hagerstown, Maryland. Dr. McMahon is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. His practice encompasses all aspects of general otolaryngology, and he has particular interest in pediatric otolaryngology, as well as the management of allergy and sinus disorders. Dr. McMahon enjoys spending family time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys traveling, running, skiing and watching college basketball. The McMahon family has enjoyed their return to his wife's home state of North Carolina.

William F. Durland Jr.

Dr. Durland grew up in Monroe, North Carolina and graduated as valedictorian from Monroe High School in 1988. At the University of North Carolina, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and went on to graduate with honors and distinction with a degree in Chemistry in 1992. He worked in research and development at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals for one year and then attended medical school at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, where he graduated with honors. While in medical school, he spent a year of dedicated research studying the physiologic pathways of nasal allergies and investigating the significance of tumor markers in head and neck cancers. He went on to complete his internship in general surgery and his residency in otolaryngology at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. He finished his residency as chief resident in 2003. Dr. Durland is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He enjoys all aspects of otolaryngology. He has a special interest in otology (hearing disorders and ear surgery), laryngology (treatment of voice problems), pediatric otolaryngology, rhinology (nasal allergy/sinus surgery), and thyroid surgery. "I chose a career in medicine because I wanted to make a direct, positive contribution to our community," he said. "Otolaryngology is a specialty that provides a good blend of both medical and surgical treatments." Dr. Durland is a volunteer Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 395 and enjoys tennis, hiking, camping, skiing and fishing.

William G. Morrel IV

Dr. Will Morrel graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2012 with a BS in Biology with Highest Honors. He attended UNC on a Morehead-Cain scholarship and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa during his junior year. He received his medical degree from UC San Francisco in 2016 and completed his residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2021. While there, he won a prestigious CORE Grant to fund cochlear implantation research. Dr. Morrel's practice encompasses all aspects of otolaryngology, but he particularly enjoys ear surgery, sinus surgery, thyroid surgery, and pediatric ENT. He values patient education and believes patient's must understand their disease and options in order to make an informed decision about a treatment plan. Dr. Morrel and his wife, Jessica, both grew up in Cary. They have two children: Madelyn and Liam. He enjoys hiking, spending time with his kids, watching soccer, making coffee, drinking coffee, and reading.
