EISACKTALWEIN

The Eisacktal Valley is the northernmost wine-growing region in South Tyrol/Südtirol, which itself is the northernmost province in Italy. The valley is an ideal terroir for producing fruity, juicy, and mineral-rich white wines. The area is small, steep, and varied in nature. The entire production of the valley is currently processed and marketed by 20 firms, 18 of which are operated by young and innovative vine-growing winemakers, who are known as Independent Winegrowers in South Tyrol. The largest of these is the Eisacktaler Kellerei winery, a cooperative with 130 members. The most traditional is the Stiftskellerei Neustift winery, which is almost 875 years old... As diverse as these wineries may be, they also complement each other, and always strive together in respectful competition to make better use of the potential of this unique growing region.
