HARALD LODGE

Sons of Norway was founded in 1895 in Minneapolis as a fraternal benefit organization serving Norwegian immigrants. In 1909 it merged with the west coast lodges to become the organization it is today. Our Harald Haarfager Lodge was founded in 1910, with a charter date of January 10, 1910. The lodge was named after a man who was considered to be the first king of Norway, also known as Harald Fairhair (Old Norse: Haraldr Hárfagri, Norwegian: Harald Hårfagre). He lived from circa 850 AD to about 932 AD.) According to traditions current in Norway and Iceland in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, he reigned from circa 872 to 930. Source: Wikipedia.
