Doug Bender comes to Horter Investment Management in his 9th year in the financial industry. As a Planning and Allocation Specialist, Doug will help Financial Advisors find solutions to meet their clients' needs and provide support that frees the advisor to focus on prospecting and gathering assets. He will assist in case preparation by leveraging years of experience and Horter's broad resources to guide recommendations. Further, Doug will work alongside advisors to onboard clients and provide day to day client support. With small business ownership experience, retail banking, and advisory services as his knowledge base; he helps individual clients identify and meet their financial goals through case-by-case tailored planning.

Drew Horter - CEO, Founder

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1977 and working in corporate America for 5 years, Drew began his financial career in 1982 as an independent financial planner. He's experienced many economic, political, and financial cycles and witnessed the fall-out for clients who lost significant portions of their savings in market crashes. After the 1987 crash, Drew decided it was time for a change. He would no longer participate in a business model that rewarded selling or that focused on generating profits for major financial corporations and stockholders over individual investors. Drew founded Horter Investment Management in 1991. Using an approach referred to as "Tactical Investment Management", his company prioritizes each investor's goals and customizes a strategy that fits their risk tolerance. They monitor and adjust portfolios in real time with the goal to make the most of market increases and mitigate losses during downturns. Drew has been featured by a number of prominent publications across the country, including The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Investment News and the Cincinnati Business Courier among others. He has also appeared on FOX News Business and local radio 700 WLW. He is a veteran of 40 years in the securities industry, licensed insurance professional, and has previously held FINRA Securities licenses that include the Series 6, 7, 22, 24 and 63. Drew has coached, mentored, and taught hundreds of advisors on how to run a fiduciary based investment business. Drew is a big believer in giving back to his community through giving to Autism schools like Linden Grove, and the Children's Home, and donating to Stepping Stones, a non-profit for children with disabilities. Drew supports Archbishop Moeller High School and is a trustee for the Midland Baseball organization non-profit.

Jason brings to Horter 26 years of financial services experience in the banking and wealth management industries. His background as a leader in compliance, risk management, accounting, finance, human resources and operations makes him a valuable resource to Horter's leadership team. As Chief Compliance Officer, Jason's responsibilities include developing and maintaining the firm's compliance program, risk management and working with regulatory authorities. In addition, he leads the firm's activities in developing analytics, proformas, business planning and new business lines development. Jason grew up in Westerville, Ohio just outside of Columbus and received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his MBA from Xavier University.

Kevin Hetzer - COO

Kevin began working with Horter Investment Management in 2008 and has developed comprehensive operational knowledge of Horter, including IAR support, trading, billing, payouts, CRM, and portfolio management software. Kevin plays a pivotal role on enterprise level partnerships with key vendors involved within each department of the organization. As Director of Operations and Technology, Kevin is responsible for overseeing trading, billing, account reconciliation, and ACAT transfers. Kevin leads the largest group of staff members in the company and is keenly aware of his people's disposition and consistently focusing on improving processes and efficiencies. Kevin started his college career as a football team member at Wittenberg University and later transferred to the Indiana University where is graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration.
