Jerry Kalb

Jerry Kalb has been involved in the mechanical engineering and specialty property restoration for more than 48 years. While decades of this experience is related to non-insurance related activities, his strength in understanding and designing of efficient mechanical and work processes, chemistry and physics lend very well to the specialized knowledge he possesses. As the chief engineer and builder of the largest vacuum freeze drying chambers on the continent (second only to NASA), Jerry possesses a unique understanding surrounding the physics related to sublimation and its responsible use. Jerry continues to provide large and small scale vacuum freeze drying services on a subcontract basis. Jerry has a strong understanding of chemical application and efficacy within the restoration industry and has been involved in complex restoration processes involving the decontamination of corrosive and toxic chemical spills. While Jerry's quiet and confident demeanor has kept him in the background, few would question the quality of his expert understandings and ability to communicate them skillfully.

Ken Larsen

Ken has served on multiple IICRC committees and task forces and contributed to their certification and standards development activities over the years. Students of structural restoration typically enjoy Ken's very casual and interactive style of instruction while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy. He is currently an IICRC Approved instructor of WRT, ASD and CDS certificate courses. He serves as Chairman for RIA approved Instructors, Trainers and Subject Matter Experts, a sub-committee of RIA's Education Committee. Larsen presently serves as Senior Technical Director for the International Dry Standard Organization (IDSO) and Director of Education for the Restoration Leadership Institute (RLI) and lead consultant for the Restoration Expert Panel (REP) and DryStandard Inspections (DSi). He is also a Registered Third Party Evaluator® (RTPE). Ken Larsen has been involved in the industry for more than 38 years as a restoration contractor, industry trainer, author and advocate for the water damage and restorative drying segment of the cleaning and restoration industry. He has practical experience in blue collar, white collar and expert/consultant positions on several high profile and very large loss restoration projects. Pat Dooley

Pat Dooley has been in the Restoration Industry since 1977. During this time Pat successfully ran eight Restoration firms and a Carpet Cleaning Company in British Columbia Canada. In 1999 Pat sold his businesses and joined Dri-Eaz Products as an IICRC Instructor founding what is known today as the Applied Structural Drying Course. Pat not only created the curriculum, but wrote and taught the very first ASD Course. Over the years, Pat has carried out water restoration projects to the value of 6,900,000.00 US and fire restoration projects to 2.5 million dollars. Pat participated on a catastrophic loss team to Hurricane Andrew in Homestead Florida in 1992. In 2003, he managed the largest natural disaster restoration project caused by Hurricane Isabel which included 100-year-old structures up to 300,000 square feet. Pat has a bachelor of Commerce Degree and is a licensed Master Electrician. Pat has been a key note speaker at numerous industry functions and has proven to be a leader in the industry.He has obtained the highest levels of certification through the IICRC and is an approved instructor for Fire and Smoke damage (FST), Water Restoration Technician (WRT), Odor Control (OCT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD). Rachel Adams

Rachel Adams has been involved in the water damage and environmental health industries for more than 27 years. She holds a dual bachelor degree in Environmental Health Sciences and Medical Technology (Toxicology) from Purdue University. She is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She also holds a Master Restorer designation from the IICRC through her training, dedication and field experience. Rachel was founder and President of Indoor Environmental Management, Inc (IEM) in 1994 in which she conducts inspections of both residential and commercial buildings throughout the country. IEM grew to develop one of the leading consulting and state-of-the art laboratory serving the needs of clients throughout North America. Rachel served on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, Restoration Certification (IICRC) and was appointed to serve as the Technical Advisory Committee Chair for the development of the IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT). Rachel serves on the committee to write and establish guidelines and updates for the standard of care for mold remediation, also referred to as the S520, Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation. She is currently serving on the committee that is developing the new S540 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Crime and Trauma Scene Remediation. Courses that she currently provides for IICRC certification include, AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT), Water Damage Technician (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Health and Safety Technician (HST), OSHA 10 and 30 hour compliance courses, Lead RRP Licensing Training, Building Investigation and Environmental Microbiology Sampling. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians (SCRT) and the Low Moisture Carpet Cleaning Association (LMCCA). She is an Associate member of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) and the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Rachel serves as an expert witness for litigations involving both defendants and plaintiffs. Her ability to provide data interpretation and evaluate protocols has made her a preferred specialist in her field. As an OSHA outreach trainer, she provides health and safety audits, training and regulatory compliance. Rachel has published several articles in professional trade journals and participated in numerous research projects funded by both public and private institutions to improve structural drying techniques and promote healthier indoor environments.
