Adam worked with the Client team from viability stage, through a complex planning application and land purchase to deliver a large new estate in north London. Working to a strict budget, procurement of a suitable Contractor was key in delivering a high quality build for a range of use classes and tenures.

Barry Carey

A Senior Partner and co-founder of FFT, Colin is an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor with 30 year's experience, mostly providing services to public sector clients. Colin leads our Housing and Property Consultancy team, which provides best-in-class consultancy services including stock rationalisation, strategic options appraisals and performance assessments. His specific expertise is in Strategic Asset Management. Building upon years of delivering innovative and reliable stock condition and planned maintenance surveys, Colin more often now advises clients on the strategic management of their property portfolios, to optimise performance through the modelling, analysis and interpretation of high quality data. Colin has a particular interest in portfolio performance assessment and options appraisals, devising strategies to plan and implement energy efficiency, carbon reduction and building safety improvement within the context of property asset management. His practical and pragmatic approach to designing solutions for new sector challenges sets Colin and his expert team apart, and is a major advantage to clients who require an intelligent approach to the management of their property portfolios. Dave Chesterton

Dave has 20 years' experience in the construction industry, and is a Chartered Building Surveyor working from our Potters Bar office. For several years Dave worked as a contract manager for a main contractor and clients benefit from his expertise in this area. Housing association and local authority clients rely on Dave's management of key areas such as legal disrepair, party wall matters and condition reports. His input helps clients maintain their property portfolio. In fact, Dave has developed IT applications to gather building condition data, information which clients can use to plan cyclical maintenance work and forecast financial obligations with greater accuracy. Grant McFall

Grant has overseen the conversion of listed buildings into micro-brewery and sports facilities, complex commercial dry rot defect remedial schemes and the provision of specialist chemistry laboratories to current standards. Kevan has experience in providing strategic direction and operational management of contracts up to £20m. He leads teams on the delivery of maintenance service programmes to homes. Lee Maskell

Lee has over 35 years of experience in the industry and has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 1991. Lee takes charge of the Procurement and Quantity Surveying teams at FFT, overseeing all major procurement and quantity surveying projects. He also manages all Partnering and Alliancing Contracts, fulfils the role of Independent Advisor and sits on the Alliance Steering Group. He is particularly skilled at supporting and implementing the change and development of cost models and methodologies for major social housing clients. Mehmet Bekir

Mehmet has been a Partner at FFT for over 15 years; his experience is extensive, totalling more than three decades in the industry for both the social housing and private sector. His is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Chartered Environmentalist as well as a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Building. Mehmet is a specialist in fire remedial works and fire investigative projects and in 2020 became an Associate of the Institution of Fire Engineers (AIFireE). His expertise extends to asset management strategies and project management, allied with contract procurement and administration in the social housing and the private sector. Mehmet has taken on the role of lead consultant on a variety of property refurbishment schemes, notably two Lewisham Council stock transfers, each with a project value of £30 million and has managed MTVH's investment programme with a £35 million spend since being commissioned. In 2019, Shane became chairman of the London branch of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management; he undertakes specialist fire safety services, including fire risk assessments, compartmentation surveys and cladding and door surveys. Projects in the education, healthcare, residential, leisure and public sectors make up the bulk of Shane's extensive experience, where he has provided principal designer and prior to 2015, CDM co-ordinator services on schemes up to £100 million.
