We set up Horizon when a member of our family suffering from Alzheimer's disease needed full time care. We looked to try and find somewhere that we were completely happy with but struggled to find the perfect place. As a result of our experiences we decided to build care centres and homes that had the aim of being welcoming places that we would be happy for a member of our family to live in. We wanted to support people to stay as independent as possible, but at the same time keep them safe.
