Since 1977, Blacklick Valley Foundation and Ambulance Service (BVFAS) has supplied both basic and advanced life support services to a large, rural, mountainous area of west-central Cambria County, 12 miles north of Johnstown, PA. Our service area includes but not limited to Nanty Glo and Vintondale boroughs, Blacklick Township, and sections of Barr Township in Cambria County, as well as Buffington, Pine, and portions of West Wheatfield Township in Indiana County. We serve a population of 12,769 people... BVFAS operates 24 hours per day, seven days week. We average 1,700 calls a year including Emergency and Non-Emergency transports.
