IVAN WEISS

Over the course of a long career of 42 years at Royal Copenhagen, Ivan Weiss has developed a whole range of ceramic expressions. Through different shapes, decorations and materials Ivan has created works from tiny boxes in porcelain to man-high pots in rough stoneware. The materials explored are overglaze, porcelain, earthenware and stoneware. Ivan is strongly inspired from Chinese and Japanese calligraphy, which is reflected in his works. His work has been exhibited in a large number of Danish museums and in museums throughout the world. Big decoration assignments are shown for example in the building of The Danish Center of Forest, Landscape and Planning.
