Junaid was an employee of pride tech services as systems administrator after living high school. He later went to pursue his HNC and HND in business information systems at international business college. Later he was employed by G4S International as systems Technician in Electronic Security systems for two years In addition, he was later the head of IT at G4S Gambia. During the course of employment he was able to attain his Bachelor ™s Degree in Information Systems at University of The Gambia. As the IT officer , As the Head of IT of SDF he periodically reviews user needs and system functionalities and ensures that the ICT facilities adequately address these needs.

As a Civil Servant, Mr. Thomas served in various capacities, among them, Principal, Gambia College, Secretary General, Gambia National Commission for UNESCO which he set up and Deputy Permanent Secretary in the erstwhile Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture in the Jawara government. He also served as a resource person in numerous workshops and seminars.
