THETA COMMISSION

Our mission is to support and uphold the high values of both the Kappa Alpha Order as well as The Citadel. Those values are set forth on this website. Fraternities are not compatible with the military environment at The Citadel. For that reason, our members are all alumni, not members of the Corps of Cadets. Our Commission is neither supported by nor endorsed in any way by The Citadel. However, The Citadel has a high regard for the ethical and other values of Kappa Alpha Order, because they are the same values supported and taught by The Citadel and its Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics... We are an official part of the Kappa Alpha Order, a fraternity whose history stretches back to its founding at Washington College in Lexington, Virginia, in 1865. Theta's own history dates back to October 1, 1883, when it was chartered sub rosa at The Citadel.
