In 1992, concern regarding the ongoing provision of hospital services in Taupo resulted in a large public meeting deciding to form an organisation to protect and extend these services... In the year ended 30June 2014 the trust contributed the grand sum of $850,000 towards the refurbishment of Taupo Hospital with particular emphasis on equipment. The total cost of the refurbishment has exceeded $15 Million... The Society celebrated its 26 th anniversary in 2018, again committing to assist with the continuation and development of healthcare services for all people within the Taupo/Turangi area.
