David Nischwitz

David Nischwitz is responsible for strategy relating to value-enhancing capital improvements in the repositioning of acquisition properties as well as existing assets. David also oversees Fogelman's Construction Management department in the implementation of these capital projects. Prior to joining the Fogelman team, David was Senior Vice President of Mid America Apartment Communities. David graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and earned his MBA degree from the University of Memphis. David is a member of American Society of Landscape Architects, ULI- Memphis, and serves on the Design Review Commission for the City of Germantown, TN.

Debi Wherry

Debi Wherry is responsible for daily oversight of Fogelman's regional operations teams. Debi also works directly with Fogelman's clients to assist in developing, planning and implementing their asset management strategies. Debi joined Fogelman after serving in various property management roles at AIMCO and LEDIC Management (now known as Envolve). Debi has served on the boards of both the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis and IREM.

Drew Taylor

Drew Taylor is responsible for the Asset Management oversight of Fogelman's real estate investments. Drew works collaboratively with Fogelman's in-house property management, construction management, and investment management teams in maximizing the investment returns of Fogelman's real estate holdings. Drew joined Fogelman after serving as EVP/Director of Asset Management for Mid America Apartment Communities (MAA) and SVP of Asset Management for LEDIC Realty. He holds a BA degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene.

Greg Williams

Greg Williams is responsible for the oversight of all aspects for Fogelman's regional operations teams while contributing to both site and corporate level business strategies and helping to establish policies that promote the company culture and vision. Greg works directly with Fogelman's various clients to assist them in the planning, development, and implementation of their strategic asset management plans. Having more than 30 years of operational multi-family experience, Greg joined Fogelman after serving in a wide range of property management roles at Insignia and AIMCO.

John Barger

John is responsible for providing guidance and collaborating with outside counsel and stakeholders on legal matters affecting Fogelman's property operations, corporate matters, and investment platform. John also oversees risk management for Fogelman's operating company, real estate investments, and third-party managed properties, and he is responsible for the placement and adminstration of insurance policies for Fogelman and its investment portfolio. In partnership with Fogelman's senior leadership, operations, and asset management teams, John designs and implements policies and practices to minimize legal, regulatory, environmental, and other exposures, and he supports Fogelman's contract negotiations and real estate transactions. John holds a BBA and MS in Accounting from the University of Memphis, a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and he is an attorney admitted to practice law in Tennessee. He has served as president of both the Tennessee Apartment Association and the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis and was named "Top 40 Under 40" by the Memphis Business Journal.

Justin Marshall - COO

Justin Marshall is responsible for leading Fogelman's property operations and regional operating teams, which includes management of 28,000 apartment homes. A veteran of the multifamily industry, Justin has been involved in the acquisitions, development and property management. Prior to Fogelman, Justin served as President of TriBridge Residential Management in Atlanta, Georgia. Justin is a graduate of the University of Georgia and earned his MBA in Real Estate and Finance from Emory University. He also earned a CPA license from the state of Georgia. Justin is an avid supporter of and volunteer for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Kevin Jackson

Kevin Jackson is responsible for the oversight of portfolio management for all of the Fogelman real estate holdings. This includes budgeting, forecasting and ongoing investment reporting relating to each of Fogelman's investment entities. In addition, Kevin is involved in Fogelman's investment due diligence, acquisitions, dispositions, and debt financing, as well as overseeing the respective transaction closing processes. Kevin holds a BA degree in Accounting from the University of Mississippi and is a Certified Public Accountant. Kevin was a founding member of Fogelman Cares and serves as co-chair of that committee.

Leah Jensen

Leah Jensen is responsible for developing and executing Fogelman's people strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of talent management, DE&I, learning & development, recruitment, compensation & benefits, employee relations, and change management. Prior to joining Fogelman, Leah served as COO of the Memphis Zoo, HR Director of the Memphis Zoo, HR Operations Manager for Vera Bradley, and Graduate Program Recruiter for the Bank of Ireland. Jensen earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Goshen College and a Diploma in Human Resource Management (CIDP) from the National College of Ireland. Jensen has maintained her SHRM-CP since 2016 and is an active Member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Mark Fogelman - President

Mark Fogelman is responsible for strategy and oversight of Fogelman's various operating divisions, while also driving the expansion of Fogelman's acquisition platform and investment partner relationships. Mark joined Fogelman in 1994 and has held various leadership positions in property operations before becoming President in 2001.  Mark serves on Fogelman's Executive Committee and Investment Committee. Mark holds a BSM degree from Tulane University's Freeman School of Business where he was the recipient of the Evelyn and William Burkenroad Award and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He is past President of the Tennessee Apartment Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Multi-Housing Council, UMRF Ventures, and New Memphis Institute.  Mark is also past President of Temple Israel synagogue. 

Melissa Smith

Melissa Smith is responsible for both the strategy and leadership of Fogelman's corporate departments, including technology, marketing, accounting, and human resources. She is also a member of Fogelman's executive committee. Prior to Fogelman Melissa gained experience in both operations, training and IT through different roles at Summit Properties and Insignia Management. She earned a BS in Business and Economics from Randolph-Macon College. Melissa is a frequent speaker at national industry events and contributor to publications such as Units Magazine and MultiHousing News. Melissa is currently serving as head of finance for her local school's Family Partnership Steering committee and is an avid supporter of Strut for Kids supporting childhood cancer families.

Mike Aiken

Mike Aiken is responsible for the sourcing, evaluation and closing of Fogelman's real estate acquisitions. Mike has been in the real estate industry since 2005, most recently serving as Director of Investments at Bell Partners, where he covered most of Fogelman's same target acquisition markets. Prior to Bell, Mike held positions at Cousins Properties and Eastdil. Mike earned his MBA degree from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School and undergraduate degree from Georgia State. Mike serves as board member of the National Multifamily Housing Council's (NMHC) Emerging Leaders program.

Rick Fogelman - CEO

Rick Fogelman is responsible for the overall business strategies of the Fogelman organization, as well as oversight of the Fogelman family's real estate investments.  Since joining Fogelman in 1988, Rick has been involved in all facets of the company's acquisition, disposition, and capital market activities. Over these 35 years, Fogelman has invested in over $4 billion of multifamily assets, while expanding its investment platform and joint venture relationships.  Rick serves on Fogelman's Executive Committee and Investment Committee. Rick earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and MBA degree from the University of Memphis. Rick serves on the board of directors of the National Multi-Housing Council and is past Vice President of the Tennessee Apartment Association. He is also a board member of Memphis Jewish Community Center, Junior Achievement of the Mid South, and the Orpheum Theatre Group.

Rob Long

Rob Long is responsible for overseeing Fogelman's Accounting Services teams, which provide property-level accounting and reporting services to our clients. This includes annual budgets, monthly financial statements and reporting packages, and accounts payable/receivable. Prior to joining Fogelman, Rob served in various property accounting roles at Insignia Real Estate Services. Rob holds a BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Memphis and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Will Drummond - CFO

Will Drummond is responsible for corporate finances, investment and property accounting, and corporate planning. Prior to joining Fogelman, Drummond was the Chief Financial Officer at Envolve Communities, LLC, a multifamily real estate company, where he also served as Chief Accounting Officer and Vice President of Financial Reporting and Investor Relations. Prior to Envolve Communities, Drummond was a senior manager at Ernst & Young, one of the largest global accounting firms, where he served within the assurance practice. He also was a financial reporting analyst for Education Realty Trust, Inc., a college-housing real-estate investment trust.
