Updated 27 days ago
Kahuku Grill is located on the historical site, The Old Kahuku Sugar Mill. The mill was built in 1893, during post American Civil War (1861-1865) and was instrumental in the production of sugar. The Old Kahuku Sugar Mill was Hawaii's largest industry in the early 1900's. The sugar produced in Hawaii was exported not only to the U.S. but Asia and the South Pacific from 1893-1971. Subsequent to 1971 the production of sugar discontinued and the mill was named a state historical site. The Kahuku Sugar Mill today is one of the last standing mills from its time and tourist and locals alike now frequent the Mill for its outstanding dinning options.
