Gretchen M. Matheson - CFO

Gretchen M. Matheson joined Silvergate Development in 2016 bringing over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, with a focus in the financial aspects of project feasibility analysis, acquisitions, financing and loan management, property management, project cash flow planning and financial reporting. Prior to Silvergate Development, Gretchen served in a range of financial executive roles including Chief Financial Officer at ADI Properties Inc., a Real Estate Development and Property Management Co., and as a professional consultant responsible for new and existing developments held by private investors in the San Diego region. Having lived in San Diego most her life, she started her career serving in variety of audit functions at KPMG, LLP in San Jose, CA. Gretchen is a Certified Public Accountant, member of the AICPA and CalCPA, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Santa Clara and studied abroad at Durham University, Durham England.

Ian M. Gill

Ian M. Gill has more than 40 years of experience in real estate development, home building, and general contracting. His diverse background encompasses residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and mixed use projects with an emphasis on urban and redevelopment projects. During his career he has developed and built in excess of 5,000 multi-family residential units. In addition to being a founding Managing Partner at Silvergate Development, LLC, Gill is co-owner and President of Highland Partnership, Inc., a locally owned and operated general contractor, based in San Diego. Prior to Silvergate, Gill served as a project executive for the Centre City Development Corporation's (CCDC) creation and implementation of the Downtown San Diego Ballpark District. One of his primary roles involved coordinating the agency's activities and interfacing with City Staff, the Padres, and Master Developer on all aspects of the fifty-two block project, including PETCO Park. Most recently Gill has been involved within the real estate development community serving as Director on the Building Industry Association's (BIA) Urban Council, Board Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Southern California Chapter), and Chairman - Technical Advisory Committee to the San Diego City Council Land Use and Housing Committee. Previously, he has served as Past President of Lambda Alpha International, Past State Director of the California BIA, Past President - San Diego Chapter of BIA, and Past Chairman/ Founding Member of the Commercial Industrial Council of BIA. Academically, Gill currently serves as Adjunct Professor at University of San Diego (USD) for the Master of Science in Real Estate program, Chairperson to the Policy Advisory Board at the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at USD, and Serves on the Executive Committee of the Chancellors Community Advisory Board for UCSD. A native of Edinburgh, Scotland he holds a Master of Science Degree in Real Estate and Construction and is a Professional Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Quantity Surveying Division) in Great Britain. He holds a Class B General Contractor's license in the State of California, and is LEEDTM Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Jake D. Reynolds

Jake Reynolds joined the company in 2016. Mr. Reynolds serves as an Assistant Project Manager supporting the development team completing various operational functions such as community engagement, market research, and acquisition analysis. Prior to joining Silvergate Mr. Reynolds served as a team leader for his collegiate sailing team, and also competed with the first ever Red Bull Youth America's Cup team for the U.S. Mr. Reynolds graduated from the College of Charleston, in May 2016, with a degree in Communication.

James F. Reynolds

James F. Reynolds has more than 40 years of experience in the real estate industry with special focuses on strategic planning, land acquisition, land planning, entitlements, and financing. Prior to becoming a founding Managing Partner at Silvergate Development, LLC, Reynolds served as Senior Vice President, for Oliver McMillan, where he was responsible for new developments in the San Diego region for the Lifestyle Centers and Urban Mixed Use projects. Reynolds began his real estate career working with University Financial, focusing on real estate development and finance. Subsequently, he founded his own real estate development company, developing retail, commercial and, assisted living projects totaling in excess of 1,000,000 square feet. Having lived in San Diego most of his, Reynolds has been active member at the San Diego Yacht club for 30 years, and has been involved in 3 America's Cup campaigns with the Stars and Stripes team. Reynolds served as the past President of the Point Loma (San Diego) Rotary Club and is an active member of Lambda Alpha International, and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Reynolds is a graduate of San Diego State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Thomas Edmunds Jr. - President

Tommy Edmunds has 15 years of experience in real estate development and finance. Mr. Edmunds joined Silvergate in 2016 as a Project Manager and was promoted to President of the company in 2022. During his time at Silvergate Mr. Edmunds has overseen the entitlement and development of $175 million of... Mr. Edmunds' professional experience includes acquisition & land development, commercial real estate investment banking, multifamily finance and asset management. He is a member of the San Diego Chapter of ULI and mentors undergraduate and graduate students at the University of San Diego that are interested in pursuing careers in the commercial real estate industry. Mr. Edmunds received his B. S. in Commerce, with a concentration in Finance from the University of Virginia and also majored in Economics. He received his Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of San Diego. Mr. Edmunds has spent extensive time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and speaks Portuguese.
