KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jalgaon is a district level Farm Science Center established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi & Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri at Jalgaon District for speedy transfer of technology to the farmers' fields. The aim of Krishi Vigyan Kendra is to reduce the time lag between Generation of Technology at the Research Institutions and it's transfer to the farmer's field for increasing production, productivity and income from the agriculture and allied sectors on a sustained basis... The first KVK was established in 1974 at Puducherry. The number of KVKs has risen to 645 and 106 more KVKs are to be established in the newly created districts and some larger districts.
