Bill Murray - CTO, Founder

Leading application development, database management, security, communication, and technical infrastructure… As co-founder and CTO, Bill Murray brings more than 24 years of information technology to DTS. Bill is responsible for all the company's information technology functions, including application development, database management, security, communication, and technical infrastructure. In addition, he works with the DTS management team on sales and marketing initiatives and overseeing day to day business operations. Over his expansive information technology career, Bill has designed and built custom software solutions for companies in the property tax, energy, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and insurance industries. Prior to co-founding DTS, he was an Independent Information Technology Consultant for seven years. Prior to his consulting business, Bill was the Vice President of Technology for a Top 100 homebuilder based in Houston, TX where he was responsible for all application/web development, infrastructure support, and technical training. Prior to this, Bill spent four years with an information technology consultancy firm as a Consultant Manager. In this role, he designed and developed various custom applications and managed multiple software development projects. Bill has a Bachelor of Business Administration in MIS from Texas A&M University, and is a Certified Member of The Project Management Institute.

Jim DiBenedetto - CEO, Founder, President

As Co-founder, President and CEO, Jim DiBenedetto has led the successful development and evolution of Dynamic Tax Solutions since 2009. Under his leadership, the company has gained recognition as a pioneer in altering the sales and use tax landscape by developing solutions that ensure improved tax accuracy and proper compliance. Responsible for the overall operations of DTS, Jim dedicates the majority of his time working directly with companies to help them identify and solve their procurement-side tax issues to increase their bottom line. Jim also spends a significant amount time working with his development team to continually enhance their proprietary software solutions to maximize benefit and enhance the overall customer experience. Prior to co-founding DTS, Jim spent two years as a Transaction Tax Senior Manager in KPMG's State and Local Tax Group. During this time, he assisted clients with sales and use tax over payment reviews, systems automation efforts, audit defense resolution, and various other consulting projects. Prior to KPMG, Jim served as the Associate Director of Transaction Taxes at Verizon Wireless for seven years. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing all transaction tax issues for more than six billion dollars of annual purchases. Additionally, he managed multiple transaction tax recovery projects, implemented a multi-billion-dollar leasing company, and architected the company's purchase order and non-purchase order use tax accrual systems. Prior to Verizon Wireless, Jim was employed for 6 years by Ernst & Young as a Transaction Tax Manager in their State and Local Tax Practice. During his tenure with EY, conducted numerous research projects, audit defense projects, due diligence projects, reverse audits, and negotiated settlements. Jim has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia and holds a Sales & Use Tax CMI designation from The Institute of Professionals in Taxation.

Mark Mercer - CFO, Founder

Leading client relationship efforts, fostering alliances with national accounting and consulting firms, developing client solutions… Mark Mercer helped co-found DTS in 2009. In his role as CFO he leads client relationship efforts as well as fostering alliances with national accounting and consulting firms. Mark is heavily involved with developing solutions that fit each client, and has done so for clients in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, retail, oil & gas, mining, and transportation. He is also responsible for the process of analyzing markets and developing communications to those markets. Before co-founding DTS, Mark was a Tax Managing Director in the Indirect Tax Group for KPMG LLP. While with KPMG, he was also a member of its National Indirect Tax Leadership Team and a multi-year team member of the Internal Quality Performance Review. Prior to KPMG, Mark was the Associate Director of Transaction Tax Audits for Verizon Wireless where he was responsible for coordinating the defense and management of sales, use and telecommunications tax audits and calculating the associated reserve requirements. Previously, Mark was a Manager at PwC and a contributing member of its national telecommunications service team. At PwC he was responsible for managing a wide variety of tax matters involving sales and use tax audit coordination and defense, voluntary disclosures, refund claims, and reserve audits. Mark has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
