Professor Martyn J. Miller is the assistant vice president for International Services and Cultural Activities in the Office of International Affairs, overseeing the Center for American Language and Culture, the Center for Chinese Language and Instruction, International Student Affairs (ISA), and International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Dr. Miller also often teaches a university seminar on Global Citizenship and has at various times supervised the offices of Global Programs and International Admissions.
An Arab-American fluent in (Levantine) Arabic and English, Miller was raised in Syria and Lebanon, so it's not surprising that he also assists with international university partnership agreements and student recruiting in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the Indian subcontinent.
Temple is not only a place to work for Miller, but is also a part of his family history: Both of his paternal grandparents were on the Temple faculty in the early days of the university (1915 - 1918), and both of his daughters are also graduates. So helping students come to and succeed at Temple is truly in Miller's roots.
Like many at Temple, Miller enjoys the great food Philadelphia has to offer. His favorite campus food spot is the Teppanyaki food truck. When time permits, you will find him on long walks through Philadelphia's treasured old residential neighborhoods.

As director of international admissions, Peter leads the team in recruiting and enrolling international undergraduate students to Temple University. He came to the United States as an international student from Denmark and joined Temple after more than 15 years working in international higher education. He loves connecting with students and their families around the world, helping them navigate the admissions process and ultimately being their partner in their life-changing study abroad experience.
Peter strongly believes that with its wealth of internship and research opportunities, Temple's Philadelphia location provides an incredible backdrop for any international student, and Temple is the springboard to these opportunities. It is also a premier historical and cultural heritage city located close to New York City and Washington, D.C. Another great benefit of Philadelphia is the food-students can literally eat their way around the world with the city's selection of great restaurants.
