I started my career in the insurance industry at American Income Life. Working 100% commission for 12 years taught me many lessons in time management and goal setting. Within the first nine months I was promoted three times, and asked to open an office in Rhode Island. Following a year of rapid agency growth, I was promoted to Director of Operations for the Greater Boston/Eastern MA office... When my boss (who is now the company's President) transferred to Florida, I declined the offer to join him. Preferring instead to seize the opportunity for a career transition, I decided that B2B Sales Management would be a good next step. I chose UniFirst because of their award-winning training program and the family/team oriented positive culture they promoted. I will always be grateful for the leadership and sales management skills that I developed during my time there. However, after three successful years with no near-term opportunity for advancement, I felt I hit a pivot point in my career.
