Akeela is regional lead for Equiom in the Middle East, a member of the Middle East Boards and Authorised Individual for Equiom Fiduciary Services (Middle East) Limited. She has overall responsibility for the management, strategic direction and operation of the Middle East businesses across DIFC, ADGM, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and KSA and ensuring that the businesses align with Equiom's group strategy. A UK solicitor with over 12 years' experience in UK and the Middle East, Akeela specialises in advising international businesses and investors on a broad range of corporate commercial matters including market entry, company formation, structuring and restructuring, corporate governance, risk, and compliance. She has worked with multinational clients and leading intermediaries from across the globe and has established herself as a trusted and resourceful advisor and leader. She is committed to developing and growing Equiom's existing and new corporate service lines, supporting the wider business and building on Equiom's position as a market leader in the region. Akeela is a member of the Association of Certified Counsel, STEP, SRA registered solicitor in England & Wales and member of The Law Society of England & Wales.

Alex Birch

Alex is a senior member of the Equiom Tax Services Limited team and oversees the delivery of UK Corporation Tax compliance services and tax advice to clients. In particular, he advises on all aspects of UK and Isle of Man corporate tax and property tax issues. Alex supports companies and their shareholders across various industries, providing guidance on group reorganisations, tax structuring, transaction advice, de-enveloping, Corporate Interest Restriction, Capital Gains Tax exemption elections, Economic Substance, and tax compliance obligations. Additionally, he assists with UK and Isle of Man taxation matters for individuals and double taxation relief within the team. Alex has more than 11 years' experience in UK and Isle of Man taxation, and specialises in UK property taxation and Corporation Tax, as well as Isle of Man corporate taxation. He holds an honours degree in Accountancy and Finance from Bangor University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Alice Dumoitier

Alice is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of client services in Equiom's Jersey office. A highly experienced fiduciary professional, Alice oversees a number of administration teams in Jersey to ensure that Equiom's clients benefit from the highest levels of customer service and compliance in line with procedures and external regulatory requirements. Alice manages a portfolio of Equiom's key clients across a variety of jurisdictions and is actively involved with the enhancement of Equiom's key risk controls and efficiency improvements. As a qualified accountant, Alice has particular expertise in client accounting, complex tax structuring and real estate acquisition. She has more than 20 years' experience in the financial services industry and has an extensive knowledge of corporate and trust administration. Alice joined Equiom in January 2016 following the acquisition of Vivat Trust & Corporate Services Limited. Alice is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Alistair Wellmann

Alistair Wellmann Email Alistair Wellmann Alistair leads Equiom's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) division in the Middle East, specialising in bespoke compliance solutions for entities operating within the DIFC, ADGM, and onshore UAE. He oversees a team of seasoned professionals assisting companies in obtaining regulatory licenses, developing compliance frameworks, and offering outsourced MLRO, Risk Officer, and Compliance Officer services. A proven leader in regulatory consulting and risk management, Alistair's strategic vision and expert guidance ensures Equiom's clients navigate the complexities of compliance with confidence. With over 20 years of experience across banking, regulatory compliance, and advisory roles in the Middle East, UK, and APAC, he provides unparalleled expertise to clients. Prior to joining Equiom, Alistair held senior roles at Scotiabank, where he led the Compliance and AML departments for EMEA, and subsequently APAC. Alistair has also made significant contributions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was Head of Compliance and AML for the Middle East stationed in the DIFC and at the UK Financial Services Authority in London where he worked in the Wholesale Policy Division. Alistair holds an M.A. (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Christ Church, Oxford, and completed his graduate legal studies at the College of Law, London. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2005, and further distinguished himself as a Practice Fellow at the Hertie School's Centre for International Security, focusing on financial sanctions.

Andrew Cardwell

Andrew is responsible for the delivery of UK and Isle of Man direct taxation services to a wide variety of clients. He advises UK and Isle of Man resident clients on personal taxation, UK inheritance tax and capital gains tax, residence and domicile issues, and the UK anti-avoidance provisions applicable to offshore trust and company structures, providing advice to trustees and beneficiaries in relation to UK tax exposures. Andrew also deals with cross-border tax issues, employment taxes and UK and Isle of Man corporate tax matters. Andrew has over 30 years' experience in accountancy and tax consultancy, specialising in private client taxation services and offshore trust structures for the last 24 years. He holds an honours degree in Accountancy from Manchester University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Antonio Mazzotta

Antonio is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of client services in Equiom's Monaco office. He has over 20 years' experience in the financial services industry and has an extensive knowledge of corporate and trust administration. Having joined the Monaco business in 2010 after relocating from Luxembourg, he held a managerial position before being promoted to Client Services Director in 2021 and appointed at the Board at Equiom Consultants SARL in 2022. Antonio holds a master's degree in Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles. He has also completed a training in corporation tax law with IFCC Chambre de Commerce Luxembourg. Antonio is fluent in English, French and Italian. He also has a working knowledge of Portuguese and basic Dutch.

Audrey is responsible for the overall operation and performance of Equiom Monaco and ensuring business performance is in line with group strategy. Audrey oversees the key business functions in the Monaco office and has more than 20 years' experience in the financial services industry specialising in trust and corporate services. She leads a highly skilled team with expertise in legal, tax, accounting and corporate advisory services in both Monaco and France. Audrey joined Equiom in 2017 following the acquisition of Carey S.A.M. which she helped establish in 2003. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is fluent in French, English and Italian.

Brian Burkholder

Brian is responsible for the overall operation and performance of HF Fund Services Ltd, operating the business in line with Equiom's group strategy. He provides strategic management and leadership to the directors and supports staff to develop client relationships and promote the Cayman Islands business to the wider group and its clients. He has spent more than 20 years in the asset management and fund sectors and has experience administering and developing single manager hedge funds, having previously been responsible for a group of funds in the Cayman Islands with assets under administration in excess of $20 billion. Brian joined Equiom following the acquisition of HF Fund Services Ltd in June 2020, a company he joined in 2013. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at UBS Fund Services (Cayman) Ltd. Brian has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor and is a Canadian CPA, CA from Ontario, Canada.

Bruce Watterson

As an Executive Director, Bruce is responsible for the effective delivery of Equiom Guernsey's fiduciary services model and day to day operations, along with working with the other board members to ensure that the company is compliant with all regulatory and statutory matters. Bruce has more than 25 years' professional experience working in the regulated financial services industry as a trusted advisor. Much of his day-to-day work involves working with best-in-practice professionals to implement properly advised, bespoke structures, often involving complex, multi-jurisdictional elements and ensuring they are managed with a high emphasis on professional, proactive and personal care. He works closely with local and international pensions and savings plan administrators, providers and advisors to deliver leading employee savings/pension solutions across the UAE and the wider MENA region. Chris supports the global business development team and also works closely with Links Group and Equiom Corporate Services (Middle East) Ltd. Having spent more than 20 years working for a global insurer before joining Equiom, Chris has significant experience in financial services with a specific focus on workplace savings/pension benefits and end of service solutions for employees and employers in the Middle East. He has worked alongside some of the biggest employers globally, helping them to design and deliver successful solutions. He is a pragmatic problem solver with an extensive professional network.
