Abdulwahed Ahmed Ghaleb

Dr. Abdulmalek Al-Jolahy

Dr. Abdulmalek Al-Jolahy is a professional civil engineer and a professor of structural engineering with more than 30 years of experience in academia and industry. He also works as a consultant for government agencies and private sectors. As a former First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and Highways (MPWH) in Yemen, Dr. Al-Jolahy co-led the MPWH for ten years, from July 2007 through October 2017, and co-led the ministry's annual agenda and plans. He effectively participated to the development of housing, public buildings, and road sectors in Yemen. During his term of service, he headed the Ministry's four organizational sectors-Public Works, Highways, Housing, and Financial and Administration. In this capacity, he issued and revised the financial and progress reports; implemented, monitored and evaluated plans; provided guidance and directions; chaired meetings and steering committees; and issued decisions. He also oversaw affiliated Projects Management Units (PMUs) within the MPWH for all projects, which had been financed by external bilateral cooperation and local fundings. He headed joint meetings with donors during monitoring and evaluation missions, chaired meetings of the Ministry's Tender Committee, and approved action plans. He represented Yemen and MPWH in high profile regional and international meetings and events. Dr. Al-Jolahy is a member of the teaching group in the Department of Civil Engineering at Sana'a University. He participated in a number of regional and international conferences, forums and workshops and published a number of scientific papers. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. from University of Manchester (UMIST), 2001 and 1997 respectively. In 1988, he received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Mansour Haidera

Dr. Haidera has more than 20 years experience in Hydraulic, Sanitary and Environmental engineering. His experience encompasses planning and designing of sewerage system, storm collection systems, wastewater treatment plants, water supply systems and Hydraulic structures. In addition, he has a long experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environment Auditing (EA) studies for all project sectors (water, environment, sanitation, roads, health and agriculture). Dr. Haidera has also a consolidate experience in integrated water resources management which involve strategic short-long term analysis, evaluation, planning and policy development. He has also a solid experience in fluvial hydraulics, river engineering, sediment transport, wadi morphology. Dr. Haidera is senior lecturer and researcher in Hydraulic, Sanitary, Environmental Engineering and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at the Faculty of Engineering, Sana'a University, Yemen. He has a PhD. in Hydraulic Engineering from University of Newcastle - United Kingdom, (2002), and a M.Sc. in Sanitary engineering from International Institute for infrastructural Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering (IHE) - Netherlands, (1995).

Dr. Mohamed Abdulwadood Al-Areeki

Having a 30-years' experience in the area of water resources management, strategic water sector planning, evaluation and policy development, setting of long-term water sector plans, integrated water resources management including Dams, river basin and regional resources. In addition, Dr. Al-Areeki has also very wide experience in the area of sanitation, water distribution networks, hydrology, hydraulic structures design and implementation, water treatment plant design, watershed management and flash flood control structures design, urban storm water management, open channel hydraulics, river engineering, dam operation, water quality analysis and environmental engineering. Dr. Al-Areeki gained his Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) in Dams Hydrology/ Water Resources from University of Newcastle upon Tyne (2002), England, and has published several articles in the field of water resources, hydraulics and environmental engineering in international journals and conferences. Dr. Al-Areeki is an Ass. Professor at Faculty of Engineering, Sana'a University - Yemen, teaching engineering hydrology, water resources, and hydraulic structures. Currently, he is the head of Water and Sanitation Department at DEEP.

Dr. Mohammed Sallam Al-Madhagi

Mr. Al-Madhagi is a professional Electromechanical Engineer, has extensive experience in design, supervision, construction, operation and maintenance of water and sanitation plants, pumping stations, sewage lifting station, pipeline networks, electrical and solar power stations and networks. He has worked as a technical manager at Al-Hodeida Water and Sanitation, Local Corporation for a long time. Meanwhile, he works as freelance consultant with several international funded projects organizations and units. Recently, Mr. Al-Madhagi joined DEEP as a WASH & Electromechanical expert and works in several water and sanitation projects.

Dr. Omar Hassan Al-Sakaf

  • Senior Electromechanical Engineer
Dr. Hassan acquired his Ph.D. (1995) as well as M.Sc. (1991) in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I), France. He is a senior lecturer in soil mechanics and foundations at Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sana'a - Yemen. He has also prepared and performed many training courses in construction of Dams and Irrigation structures, including encountered problems and proposed solutions. Dr. Al-Sakaf is a professor of Power Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sana'a, Yemen. He has more than 30 years' experience in electrical engineering/ power engineering including solar energy system.His experience covers planning, designing and construction supervision for various types of power energy projects. Recently, Dr. Al-Sakaf joined DEEP as an electromechanical senior specialist and work as a supervisor for Development of Water and Sanitation Strategic Plan (about 800 projects in urban and rural areas) as well as preparation of electromechanical work and documents for the very recent water and sanitation projects that conducted by DEEP in 8 urban cities.

Dr. Sadek Ahmed Sinan

Dr. Sinan has 15 years experience in Road and Bridge Engineering. His experience covers planning, designing and construction supervision for Bridges of various types, reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete, in addition to urban road and intersections of different levels, overpass, underpass, pedestrian bridges, etc. Dr. Sinan has also a considerable experience in project management, preparation of tender documents (technical specification, B.O.Q, cost estimate, as well as general and special conditions of contracts), and tenders evaluation and contract award. He is also involved in academic and research activities on Bridge and Building Construction topics.

Dr. Yahia Mohammed Al-Haifi

Dr. Al-Haifi is a Senior Surveyor with more than 25 years experience in surveying and Geodesist Engineering and road engineering. He carried out several setting out and topographic survey field and office works using Total Stations and other devices. Dr. Al-Haifi has a Ph.D. in High Precision GPS Positioning for Engineering Surveying from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, (1996), and M.Sc. in Engineering Surveying and Geodesy from University of Nottingham, UK, (1989). Over the years, he has gained extensive knowledge and skills allow him to plan, manage and run various basic and advanced geodetic /plan surveying and related topic courses and conducting trainings on a long or a short period basis.

Mr. Omar Al-Korshumi

Mr. Omar Al-Korshumi is a senior civil engineer with more than twenty-five years of work experience in different areas including, roads and bridges design, construction and maintenance. He gained his bachelor degree in civil engineering in 1990 from University of Taxes El-Paso (UTEP) in the U.S.A. Through the government agenda, Mr. Al-Korshumi made a remarkable contribution into the development of housing sector in Yemen and the construction of many public buildings, technical education and vocational training centers and sport facilities countrywide. Mr. Al-Korshumi directed the establishment and construction of International Football Stadiums in Aden and Abyan for Khaliji 20-the Gulf Football Championship that took place in Yemen from November 22nd to December 5th, 2010. He also played key role in the development of international and domestic airports in Yemen.
