My name is Joshua Downer and I have been creating mathematical models and software for more than 20 years. I have been lucky to work with engineers and scientists in many different domains, e.g. robotics, atmospherics, machine learning. I now work as a consultant and contractor helping people to develop models, simulations, and software... Gamalon have created a technology based on a proprietary Probabilistic Programming Language (PPL). PPLs can solve machine learning problems using much less data than Deep Learning. I developed an API for their PPL to support gradient-based solvers, and I implemented a Hamiltonian Monte Carlo solver using that API. I also created a framework that allowed developers concurrently run models for testing performance and scaling.
