Gunnar Hoest is the founder and CEO of GX Resources. He has 20 years of financial market experience across commodity trading, emerging markets, and structured credit. During the past 11 years, he has served as Managing Director and Head of Commodities Sales & Trading for the Asia Pacific region at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, and BNP Paribas. Most recently, he set up an innovative oil and metals trading business at Clearstar Pte. Ltd. focused on structured financing related transactions. Previously, he spent 10 years managing trading businesses and trading teams in emerging markets and credit derivatives at Credit Suisse First Boston and Credit Suisse Financial Products in New York, London and Hong Kong. He holds a B.Sc. In Theoretical Mathematics, a B.Sc. In Computer Science, and a M.Eng. In Computer Science from MIT, where he was also a Research Assistant in the Theory of Computation Group. A Norwegian citizen, he resides in Singapore since 2010. Chris Hong is Head of Metals for GX Resources. He has 18 years of experience in the commodities industry, most recently as Director in of Commodity Sales for Citibank in Singapore (3 years) and prior to that at Macquarie Bank (6 years), with Korea as his primary coverage responsibility. He has a deep experience structuring and executing hedging deals for physical commodity transactions, prepays & commodity project financing, as well as structured commodity financing deals, repos, physical commodity deals with embedded derivatives, precious metals leasing and consignment deals. Prior to his banking experience, Chris was a trader in the Metal Trading Division in Samsung Corporation for 6 years. He was responsible for trading physical copper cathode and concentrates.
