Francis founded Kinneir Dufort Design in 1976 with Ross Kinneir. Kinneir Dufort is a leading Industrial Design company in Bristol. Francis left Kinneir Dufort to found Dufort and Sons which operated from 1986 to 1997 manufacturing licensed character badges and keyrings. Dufort & Sons was acquired by Gemma International and became Characteristix Ltd which still operates successfully. The pin badges became integral to the Gemma greeting card range for many years... We deliver innovative design and engineering solutions with appropriate contemporary aesthetics. Mechanisms are a speciality particularly in our toy development work... Dufort Associates, founded in 1997, is a unique Product Design & Development Company located in the heart of Cornwall in the UK. We have in-house facilities which enable us to provide models and prototypes as well as short production runs. We also have extensive experience of manufacturing in Europe and Asia when mass production is required.
