Cynthia Easton

Cynthia Easton graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design, in 1972. She continued her professional education at the University of Maryland and received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with Honors in 1975. After several years of interning in architectural firms in Washington D.C. and Sacramento, Cynthia became a licensed architect in 1979. As designer, Cynthia has completed many commercial, industrial, and residential projects, both single family and multifamily. Most recently, Cynthia was responsible for the design and documentation of Mutual Housing at the Highlands, a 90-unit homeless housing and affordable housing project in North Highlands, which is certified Build It Green (BIG) with an impressive 121 points rating -- the highest in Sacramento and Yolo Counties for a multifamily residential project -- and was a finalist for the 2012 Sacramento Business Journal Real Estate Project of the Year Award. Cynthia has also become well known in the Sacramento area for her expertise in bringing an architectural aesthetic to the industrial project sector, and as a result has been selected as an architect consultant to many large engineering firms including Nolte Vertical Five, HDR Engineering, Carollo Engineers, Montgomery Watson, and West Yost Associates. Because of a firm belief in contributing to the architectural community, Cynthia is involved with many professional organizations. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects Central Valley Chapter and has served on the board for several terms in every leadership capacity. For the California Architects Board, Cynthia is a past member of the Professional Qualifications Committee, the Communications Committee, and is a Master Commissioner for the Supplemental Examination. In recognition for past service to the California Architects Board, she received the Octavius Morgan Distinguished Service Award. The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards selected Cynthia from a national pool of architects to advise the Council in grading criteria for the National Architectural Examination. Cynthia is also a member of the Northern California Chapter of the United States Green Building Council. Cynthia provides full architectural services, including renderings and presentation drawings, and produces construction documents on AutoCAD and ArchiCAD. Other architectural services include interior design services, feasibility studies, sustainability analysis, and facility assessment.

Ida A. Clair

Cynthia Easton Architects has employed Ida Clair since May 1999. Ida graduated from the University of Southern California, with a Bachelor of Architecture, in 1987. She has been a California Licensed Architect since 1991 and a Project Manager for Cynthia Easton Architects since 1999. As a Project Manager, Ida has worked on various types of public and private commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Most recently, she is responsible for the design and documentation for the Infill Housing Partnership Program, a collaborative effort of Cynthia Easton Architects, the City and County of Sacramento, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, and the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District, to offer to the public pre-approved construction documents for purchase of highly energy efficient, accessible, and affordable house plans for infill lots in the City and County of Sacramento. Ida a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty in Building Design and Construction (BD+C) and is the LEED Consultant for the Cosumnes Oaks High School AD-UP House, a project presently under construction that is pursuing LEED for Homes Platinum certification. She is a member of the Northern California Chapter of the United States Green Building Council and mentors architecture students at Cosumnes River College in the yearly National Sustainable Design Competition. Ida has been a Certified Access Specialist since 2009, providing accessibility evaluations for public accommodations and issuing accessibility reports and Disability Access Inspection Certificates according to the requirements of California's Construction Related Accessibility Standards Compliance Act (CRASCA). She also provides plan review services for access compliance and teaches seminars on access compliance for the American Construction Inspectors Association. Ida is a Founding Member and Chairperson for Legislative Affairs for the Certified Access Specialist Institute (CASI). She serves as a Subject Matter Expert on test development for the Certified Access Specialist Examination and has worked with the California State Senate on pending SB1186 accessibility legislation. Ida was also part of the ETA Alliance for Access that performed a comparative analysis of the 2010 CBC to the 2010 ADAS for the Division of the State Architect. In the community Ida serves as a member on the City of Elk Grove Construction Appeals Board.

Mari Minamide

Alumni of California Polytech San Luis Obispo's Architecture program. Mari formerly worked for firms in San Francisco and HMC in Sacramento. She is highly experienced in educational and commercial projects. She is responsible for specifying products and checking the work of the draftsmen.

Mary McFarland

Alumni of University of California, Berkeley's Architecture Program. Mary previously worked for a number of firms in the Bay Area and Sacramento region. Self employed for several years before returning to Cynthia Easton's office, Mary is experienced in residential and commercial projects, as well as multi-family housing.
