Catherine brings a unique skill set, having served as a senior attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice where she worked in policy, litigation and intelligence units of the criminal division. Catherine is an adjunct professor with Johns Hopkins University's graduate school in Washington, D.C. She teaches opinion writing in the political communications master's program. Catherine is a member of the Virginia bar and is also licensed to practice law in the United Kingdom. In her free time, she gives back to the community as a Virginia Supreme Court-certified mediator and trainer. She serves annually as a judge for the George Mason Law School's Alternative Dispute Resolution Society's Negotiation Competition. Finally, Catherine is an arts critic and has reviewed opera and theater in Washington, D.C., for two decades. She served by invitation on the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Emery Battis Award for Acting Excellence Panel from 2015-18
