I landed my first job at Alabama Interactive in Montgomery, Alabama in the fall of 2009. Here it was possible to lay the ground work for my future career. This position offered an excellent balance of new development and maintenance development. We spent the majority of our time as developers creating Java Struts 2 web applications for the State of Alabama. These web applications were normally geared around License renewals... In the winter of 2010, I decided it was time to move back to my home area of Birmingham, Alabama. I accepted the Application Developer position at AutoTec, LLC. This position would prove to be invaluable to my career. Through my almost 7 year tenure at AutoTec, I was fortunate enough to work with some of the most intelligent mentors and peers. This led into a Senior Software Developer role, and the CTO's "go to" developer for all critical projects. This role provided amazing mentorship and growth in my ability to develop and research.
