Graduate in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Doctor in Medicine from the Universities of Fribourg (Germany) and Cantabria (Spain). He spent several post-doctoral stays to train in Cancer Molecular Biology at the German National Center for Cancer Research and at Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (USA). He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology via clinic training, and practiced that specialty at Valdecilla Hospital in Santander and Cruces Hospital in Bilbao. After that, he became Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service at Valdecilla Hospital and the Río Hortega Hospital. At present, he holds the same position in Valladolid. Besides, he is Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Valladolid University. He has written 130 indexed publications and has an "h" = 26 index.

She completed her Biochemistry studies in Paris, where she also specialized in Genomics. She obtained a Master degree in Medical Research and her Doctorate "cum laude" in Medicine from Oviedo University.
Dr. Eiró has carried out various pieces of research, from projects on HIV at the Cochin Institute in Paris (France); through the genomic analysis of tumor progression at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Paris (France); the research on the different signaling pathways involved in tumor suppression and autoimmunity at the National Center of Biotechnology (CSIC - Madrid); to the studies on the therapeutic potential of stem cells from adults. At present, she is working at the Research Unit of the Jove Hospital Foundation, she is the secretary of the Research Committee of that institution, and is Member of the European Academy of Tumor Immunology.
The fact that she has taken part in 12 financed research projects has open the chance for her to publish over 60 scientific papers in relevant international journals (index H: 22), to supervise 7 doctoral theses, to be the intellectual author of 2 patents, and to have been awarded 2 scientific prizes for taking part in projects related to Crohn's disease (ulcerative colitis) and breast cancer.
She studied pharmacy at the University of Santiago (Spain) and holds a doctorate "cum laude" from the same University (1991). After a three year postdoctoral stage in the UK she again joined the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Santiago becoming a professor in 1998. Dra. M Landin has been recognized as Specialist in Industrial Pharmacy by the Spanish Government in 2005.
She has participated in an important number of basic and applied research projects, both national and international. She is the author or co-author of more than 80 international papers, some of them included as main references in the "Handbook of Pharmaceutical Excipients". She has a background and broad experience in the areas of pharmaceutical material science and processing, such as raw materials characterization and variability or scale-up process. She has also extensive experience in the design and evaluation of immediate and controlled drug delivery systems.
