GENESIS - Key Persons
Abbi was born and raised in Jefferson City, Mo. After graduating from Jeff City High School, she attended William Woods University where she played Volleyball and received "Freshman of the Year" in her conference. After playing a year of volleyball, she moved back to Jefferson City to attend Lincoln University. After being a pharmacy technician for 3 years, she took the leap to be a Medical Assistant here at Genesis. Along with working here at Genesis, she is also the Head JV volleyball coach at Jefferson City High School.
Abbi has always known she wanted to be in the medical field, as she has been around it her whole life. Most everyone in her family has some kind of medical background. Her goal is to eventually go back to nursing school, and fulfill her dream of being a nurse, like her mom. When Abbi isn't working or coaching volleyball, you will find her spending time with her husband, Michael, and two kids, Easton and Emma.
She began her career here at Genesis in 2021 at our Laser and Vein division and has enjoyed it ever since. "Genesis is a very fulfilling place to work, as we have the greatest patients and an awesome team to work with. Not only do we strive to have the best patient care, Genesis as a company is also very involved in the community and gives to many organizations, such as the United Way, which makes me very proud to be a part of."
Barb was born and raised in St. Louis. After high school she left the St. Louis area to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO where she received a Bachelor's of Journalism in Advertising with a minor in Marketing. She then moved out west where she worked in the advertising industry. She later returned to Missouri where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from St. Louis University.
After completing her degree, Barb worked as an ICU nurse at St. Louis University where she met her husband, Chandra Prasad. Together they moved to Jefferson City where they have lived and raised their four children since 1995.
Barb started out as the Clinic Coordinator of the Laser and Vein Center in 2008 with just three employees and a part-time vein clinic that offered a few esthetic services. After growing the business to include two locations and a full service medspa and wellness division with over 30 employees she decided it was time to pass on the baton and turn over day to day management to her leadership team. Barb now helps out as a consultant and support for her team and she is their biggest cheerleader!! Her goal is to provide Jefferson City with all the vein and esthetic services and amenities available in a larger city right here in mid-Missouri.
In her downtime, Barb enjoys reading books, exercising, spending time with her family and working for the Catholic diocese of Jefferson City as their women's ministry coordinator. She also enjoys traveling and hopes to see as much of the world as she can! Her motto is "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Gandhi

Melissa was raised in Jefferson City. After high school, she attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where she studied Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. Continuing her education, Melissa will be applying to physician associate programs to earn her Master of Science in Physician Associate Studies as she is working to become a PA-C.
In the spring of 2023, Melissa joined Genesis. She loves getting the chance to work with patients on a daily basis, as well as being around her coworkers. She is thankful she gets to work with an authentic group of people. So far, she has loved every medical setting she worked in.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, learning ASL, and reading true crime or historical fiction.

Before Stephanie began her career at Genesis, she worked at St. Mary's Medical Unit for two years as a floor and charge nurse, as well as at Boone Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for two years. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Truman State University. While at Genesis, she has been working toward her Master of Science in Nursing and is set to complete her program in 2020. She would like to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Stephanie loves her job at Genesis and enjoys talking with her patients and getting to know them a little better each time they come in. She also loves her coworkers and says she "couldn't ask for a more genuine group of people to work with every day."
