Illium Technologies was founded in 2014 by a team of chemists and engineers at the City University of New York and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. The initial discovery of plant-based catalytic solvents led to a international partnership of discovery, applications, and education. As we continue our journey, we welcome community involvement and encourage shared scientific resources... Strategically located in Charlotte, North Carolina, we have active projects in plant-based ionic liquids, biodiesel catalysis, and STEM education.
