Joe Mazza has spent much of his life behind a camera. As a young man, traveling abroad to remote and desolate places, it was the locals, rather than the architecture that caught his eye. Armed with an old film camera and zoom lens, he went off on his own to candidly shoot the faces of the people who lived there. It was those people who helped form his fascination with the story and emotion behind the eyes of his subjects - a trait that still finds its way into his work today... While originally from Los Angeles, it was over twenty years ago that Joe found his way to San Francisco as a freelance photographer and acting coach - two professions that fit nicely together.
