It is vital that all individuals involved with the child, be it parents, educators, foster families, administrators, etc., come together as a team to share their knowledge and views concerning the individual in order to come up with an appropriate individualized plan to support the child... Through our experience, we have found that our approach, as adults, often determines the outcome of a crisis situation involving children. We strive to get educators, families and caregivers on board with shifting how they respond to challenging situations involving the children that they interact with. Through in-service trainings and open, honest conversations, we help them learn new ways to respond to crisis situations that lead to positive outcomes... Our ultimate goal is to make the individuals with whom we interact feel safe, confident and prepared to be their own risk..
