Abby Phillips

Abby completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Regina in 2021. Her honours thesis examined the perceived harms of digital dating abuse among University of Regina students. Since graduating she has been able to conduct research for Inclusion Saskatchewan (a community-based organization) and RRUN (a community-based research partnership). Abby has broad research interests that include ICBT, interpersonal violence, disability, and school psychology. Her role within the PSPNET team will focus on supporting the research team through data and client management.

Amanda Noubarian

Amanda Noubarian is serving as Operations Manager for CIPSRT. In this role, she is responsible for maintaining effective and efficient operations through the development and integration of programs, policies, procedures and infrastructures. She comes to this position with a diverse educational background, having completed credentials in anthropology, Spanish, international development, public policy analysis, and most recently, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Regina. Amanda also brings to CIPSRT significant experience in the public and non-profit sectors, including her roles on boards and steering committees, and more than a decade of post-secondary academic advising and student service coordination.

Cheryl Hymus-Fraser

Cheryl Hymus-Fraser is a registered Social Worker through the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers. Cheryl has her Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor. Cheryl has been working with individuals and families in the human services field for over 15 years' in both Saskatchewan and Ontario, as well as the United Kingdom, and has over a decade of experience providing individual and group counselling to adults and youth. She uses a strength-based and trauma informed perspective to support individuals in areas of anxiety, depression, self-harm, addiction, trauma, grief and loss, and relationships. She has additional training in Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Cheryl uses a person-centred, collaborative approach to help individuals identify and work towards making positive changes in their lives.

Christina Chaisson

Christina has held many roles at the University of Regina including Project Coordinator, Director of Community Programs at URPride, Residence Life Coordinator, Tutor/Mentor and Office Administrator. She holds a BA (Honours) in Arts with a minor in French and Francophone Intercultural Studies and has a personal interest in psychology and wellbeing. Christina is supporting CIPSRT through her role as a Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for PSPNET.

David C. Malloy

David C. Malloy, PhD, is a Western alumnus, earning both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Western's Faculty of Physical Education. He received his doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Ottawa. In 2019, Dr. Malloy was named the Principal of King's University College at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada, a title that was changed to President in 2021. This follows his 30-year career with the University of Regina, both as a faculty member and administrator, holding the roles of Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies, Associate Dean in the Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research, Associate Vice-President (Research) and Vice-President (Research). Dr. Malloy has maintained an active research portfolio, with a focus on applied philosophy in health care. His interests include ethical decision-making, codes of ethics, existential hardiness, personhood, and ethical climate/culture. During his academic career, he has published six books and 67 peer-reviewed articles, contributed to three book chapters and seven book reviews, given 81 conference presentations, and has received more than $4.5 million dollars in team and individual research grants. He has served as an adjudicator for both the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). In his spare time, Dr. Malloy is an active musician, as a bass guitarist and vocalist. He also enjoys sports, and was the head track and field coach for The University of Western Ontario.

David Miller

David Miller is an alumni of Memorial University, where he has worked for the past 34 years. He has held various Directorships in Vice-President (Research) portfolio since 2004, and he is currently the Director of Research Services. He has provided strategic direction and institutional oversight to the administration of major research partnerships for more than a decade, and he also oversees the pan-university Core Research Equipment and Instrument Training (CREAIT) Network which he founded. With a background in Chemistry, David has co-authored 70 peer reviewed publications involving a broad group of collaborators across multiple fields of Chemistry, which have been cited more than 2500 times.

Donna King

Donna King is currently the Associate Director of CIPSRT. Having assumed the position of Executive Director of the Collaborative Centre for Justice and Safety (CCJS) in June 2019, King has brought decades of management and executive leadership experience to this role, with particular expertise in systems management, strategic planning, and information technology. When CIPSRT was formed and CCJS was dissolved, she assumed the position of CIPSRT's Associate Director. She has held Director-level positions with Viterra (2007-2011) and SaskTel (2011-2016), Vice President of Solutions Delivery with Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI; 2016-2017) and then spent two years as an Independent Information Technology and Services Professional prior to assuming her leadership position at CCJS. King's wealth of upper-level management experience and business acumen are invaluable in ensuring the smooth operations and sound fiscal management of grants administered by CIPSRT.

Dr. Amélie Fournier

Dr. Amélie Fournier is a registered psychologist through the Saskatchewan College of Psychologist and l'Ordre des psychologues du Québec, who has been providing services for the past 13 years. She pursued her education in Sherbrooke, Quebec, completing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Sherbrooke. She is a Clinical Research Associate at the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) at the University of Regina, and is involved in the Public Safety Personnel Internet-Delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She also contributes to the RCMP Longitudinal Study on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Amélie acquired her experience working with individuals and groups with the Clinique Sans Mur (CSM) at the Centre hospitalier du Grand-Portage, in Quebec (public hospital). At the clinic she provided assessment and individual-group treatment services to clients diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder. She was responsible for the training of various mental health caregivers, giving them a better understanding of borderline disorder, and improving their clinical interventions. Amélie also supervised international students from France, at the university level. She also worked in government founded health facilities, offering care at local community service center (CLSC), where she delivered assessment and therapeutic services to adults as well as psychological services in a private practice. Her professional experience in special needs education and psychology allowed her to develop the necessary skills to work in different crisis contexts, for example with teenagers (shelter), adult men (shelter), and particularly in civil safety situations, such as the fire that devastated a residence for seniors, in Isle-Verte, Quebec, in 2014.

Dr. Claudel Parent-Boursier

Dr. Claudel Parent-Boursier is a registed psychologist through l'Ordre des psychologues du Québec since 2015. She completed her doctorate degree in clinical psychology and applied research at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). She is a Clinical Research Associate at the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) at the University of Regina and currently involved in the Public Safety Personnel Internet-Delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She also contributed to a longitudinal study on the influence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder on children and young adults. Furthermore, Claudel acquired experience while working in private clinics such as Centre d'Expertise Marie-Vincent and the Psycho-Centre Roussillon, where she provided assessment and individual or family treatment services to clients. She also worked in government founded health facilities, contributing to psychological treatments offered in local community service center (CLSC) and Philippe-Pinel National Institute of Legal Psychiatry in Québec. Through out those experiences, she worked with individuals in distress and particularly after potentially traumatic events; the Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, its impacts and treatment are main interests in her practice.

Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos

Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Regina, and Founder and Executive Director of the Online Therapy Unit, which has offered and evaluated Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (ICBT) to over 10000 SK residents. She is also principal investigator of the Public Safety Personnel Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PSPNET) team responsible for the contribution agreement implementing and evaluating ICBT for public safety personnel. Dr. Hadjistavropoulos' innovative work on ICBT has leveraged millions of dollars in funding from sources such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, and Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research, Rx & D Health Research, Craig Neilson Foundation, Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and Public Safety Canada. Dr. Hadjistavropoulos is a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and the Canadian Psychological Association. She is an active member of the Collaborative for e-Mental Health (Mental Health Commission of Canada) and was awarded CAMH Difference Makers Award 150 Leading Canadians for Mental Health. Particularly noteworthy, Dr. Hadjistavropoulos has been highly successful in turning an initial research project into an established clinical service While now running a digital mental health service, she maintains her commitment to research, education, collaboration, and consultation that is serving to strengthen digital mental health care in Canada. Dr. Hadjistavropoulos' significant and innovative contributions make her a recognized leader in psychology and digital mental health in Canada and worldwide.

Dr. Jill Price

Dr. Jill Price is an Experimental and Applied Psychologist and Sessional Member at the University of Regina. She completed her undergraduate (honours), M.A., and Ph.D. in Experimental and Applied Psychology at the University of Regina with a focus on statistics and cognitive development. Dr. Price also completed a four-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) under supervision of Dr. R Nicholas Carleton. Her research focused on the mental health resources available to public safety personnel in Canada. This fellowship led to the development of the website PSP Mental Health as well as several publications and conference presentations. She is currently a Research Associate at CIPSRT evaluating the Public Safety Personnel Internet-Delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PSPNET) for public safety personnel and their families in Canada.

Dr. Jody Burnett

Dr. Jody Burnett is a Registered Doctoral Psychologist with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists and a High Performance Consultant who has been providing service to the general public, specializing in service provision to first responders/public safety personnel, health professionals and athletes for the past 15 years. She is also a Clinical Research Associate at the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) and is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Regina. Jody pursued both her academic and professional career in Regina, Saskatchewan, completing her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and successfully established her own consulting firm specializing in high performance training, counselling and research/evaluation within various sectors including health, education and justice. Jody has experience working with individuals and groups at the municipal, provincial and national level. Her therapeutic background has allowed specialized populations (first responders, public safety personnel, allied health professionals, athletes, etc.) to access support services that aid in the development of goal creation, focusing techniques, stress management, communication, recovery, confidence and resiliency. The adoption of these tools and techniques has helped clients to reclaim and excel in both health and overall quality of life.

Hugh received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Under the supervision of Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos, he is currently completing the second year of his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at the University of Regina. The focus of Hugh's research is on advancing innovative strategies for delivering evidence-based psychological treatments in an accessible manner. His specific research interests include the role of persuasive design in Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (ICBT) and the use of ICBT for treating depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress among public safety personnel. For his master's thesis, Hugh is conducting a meta-analysis of unguided Internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (ICBT) interventions for depression and anxiety and a meta-regression to determine whether various persuasive design elements predict treatment outcomes.

Isabelle Dena

Isabelle Dena is a registered Social Worker through the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers. Isabelle has a Master of Social Work from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville USA and a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the University of Calgary. She is currently a Clinical Research Associate at the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) at the University of Regina and currently involved in the public safety personnel internet-delivered cognitive behaviour therapy. With over 15 years of experience, Isabelle has been providing mental health services to individuals and their families from diverse backgrounds including racialized minority groups, low-resource communities, and Indigenous communities, working in Saskatchewan, Alberta and the United States of America. Her experience involves engaging in individual and group counselling, parenting education, attachment work, as well as engaging in community based health research work using patient-oriented research approach. Isabelle's work is guided by using lenses of trauma-informed, cultural humility and social justice.

Jason Godin

Jason Godin worked as front line Correctional Officer in the province of Ontario and in federal Corrections, working at Kingston Penitentiary & Millhaven Institution, a maximum security prison, for 12 years from 1992 - 2004. Jason was a Founding member of the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers in 1999. Jason served as a Ontario regional president from 2001 until 2013. He then served as the National Vice President from 2013 to 2016 and was elected National president from 2013 to 2019. Jason has worked on numerous return to work committees & has testified several times before parliament on mental health committees for First Responders, focusing primarily on correctional officers. Jason retired in 2020.

Kerry completed her Master's of Educational Psychology at the University of Regina in 2011. She is a duly Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. She holds Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE), which allows her to assess and diagnose psychological disorders. Kerry is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), and has been an executive member of the Psychology Association of Saskatchewan since 2008. Kerry offers therapy services to adult clients in Ontario and Saskatchewan, as well as adolescent clients in Saskatchewan. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) practices, with extensive experience with Internet delivered CBT, Kerry supports clients to learn and practice skills to help them manage anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, personal and occupational stress, interpersonal difficulties, relationship concerns, and chronic pain. Leslie Anne Keown

As Executive Director, Dr. Leslie Anne (LA) Keown brings her expertise and extensive experience conducting leading edge research and occupying leadership roles with the Correctional Service of Canada and Statistics Canada to CIPSRT. LA holds a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) degree in Sociology from the University of Calgary, as well as her Master of Arts (Sociology) and her Ph.D. (Sociology) from the University of Calgary. LA is cross-appointed to Justice Studies and Sociology and Social Studies as an Associate Professor at the University of Regina. She is an Adjunct Research Professor with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University. She has authored numerous publications, including articles in the leading journals in her field, and has been the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and awards. LA is a Killam Laureate. LA's research interests are varied but centered on the Canadian Criminal Justice System and research methodologies that focus on mixed methods or advanced quantitative techniques.
