MARE UNDARUM

Not your traditional belly dance experience, Mare Undarum is a belly dance experiment. Named after one of the lunar maria in the first quadrant of the moon, our name means the Sea of Waves in Latin. We combine elements from many teachers and styles to create a unique mood... Founded in 2015, we danced together in several troupe ensembles before deciding to create a formal duo. At the Ann Arbor Aviary, we began to explore duets and work to create our own style of choreography. We are inspired by a wide range of music, from classical Egyptian works to electronica and nautical folk.
